Rock Lake Adventure
These pictures were taken on one of my first excusions into the Wilderness region.
This is Justin. He was on the fire crew. It was ironic that 1900 miles from home I should me someone from Minnesota!
Here we are standing on a bridge over Rock Creek. The outlet of the lake we went to, Rock Lake.
Here we are about 2 miles into our hike.
The trail went on for about another 2 miles. All together we put on over 8 miles that day.
Justin is in this picture standing next to the waterfall that is coming out from Rock Lake.
A couple of us were brave enough to enter and old mine that was near the waterfall.
In this picture you can see the old mining equipment that was used for gold prospecting.
Down in the valley is where we came from. At this point I didn't think I could make it, since it was the middle of the day and hotter than heck.
A neat stream going down the mountian, probably an A-type.
Had some great veiws of the mountians in the Wilderness.
Check out the slab of rock at the top of this mountian. Wow!
Well it took all day and the fishing was less than stellar, but it was worth it. Another opportunity to check out some remote parts of Montana. Oh and Justin, thanks for waiting for me!! Ha!
