I took these pictures when I went to Elk Lake with a friend of mine that came up from Avery, Idaho where he was also working as a hydro tech.
Took this pic when it stopped raining and finally got a little sunny out.
This is Elk Lake. It is at a lower elevation so there are a lot of trees around it
Other than the wind it was really nice here.
It was a long drive to get to the lake. The road was really bad for about 3 or 4 miles.
But Dennis was a good sport when it came to the trail. He didn't hesitate to plow his new truck through some big holes.
The other 10 miles of road were your typical rocky Forest Service type.
We also got to see an interesting deer.
I've never seen a deer hunch up to take a crap before?!
Well the deer made up for the lack of fish that we caught, and the scenery made the 15 miles worth it. I'm not sure but I think Dennis would agree, the burgers and beer made up for the weather.
Check out the next page. It has pics of when Dennis and I went to the Ross Creek Cedars.
