These pictures are from the 2002 summer whem I was working in MT as a hydro tech. On my days off I'd do alittle exploring with some friends from work. These are from our hike into the Wilderness on the Kootenai National Forest. We tried getting to a lake called Moran Basin. Needless to say we didn't get there but, it was an interesting hike. By the way I also re-did this page so the pictures should load faster. Thanks for looking.
This is basically were we started. The valley in the distance was were we were headed.
I worked with Nate. He was also a hydro tech. Matt on the right worked in the fish dept.
That's me. I was alittle nervous next to the cliff. The lake down behind me is St. Paul.
This is looking down the cliff at St. Paul Lake.
Here's a good shot of us. The valley in the first picture is right behind us.
Trying to find a way down to the lake.
It just wasn't our day. Every place was too steep to climb down.
We did see some nice rock specimens. (My geology minor showing through)
Another cool one. This looks like crossbedding.
Had a Hay-Day checking out all these rocks.
And finally we ended up back where we started. It was a fun trip. We were pretty tired by the end of the day. (Well actually just me and my "flatlander" lungs.
The next page is when a friend of mine from college, Dennis, and I went to Elk Lake.
