There are only a few different types of tiger species in the world. Only 5 of the 8 subspecies of the Tiger remains. Those 5 subspecies are: - Siberian Tiger (Panthera Tigris Altanica) - Bengal Tiger (Panthera Tigris Tigris) - Chinese Tiger (Panthera Tigris Amoyensis) - Indochina (Panthera Tigris Corbetti) - Sumatra Tiger (Panthera Tigris Sumatrae) The 3 extinct/considered extinct tigers are: - Bali Tiger (Panthera Tigris Balica) - Caspian Tiger (Panthera Tigris Virgata) - Saber Tooth Tiger (Genus Smilodon [extremely old]) |
