Sumatra Tiger (Panthera Tigris Sumatrae)

The Sumatra Tiger, lives in the Indonesian island of
Sumatra. This tiger averages to about eight (8) feet long, that is from the tip of its
nose to the tip of the tail. It is dark red with cream coloured areas, long black stripes,
that are usually in double layers. This subspecies suffers from a lot of habitat damage
and way out of control hunting. The Sumatra's population dropped by about 50% in the
1980's.
