THE STORY: The story in Golden Sun is okay but not formidable. It was mainly because almost all the story took place in the beginning where there is so much talking that I fell asleep. There's some other little bits of the story that are okay, but the beginning was extremely boring. That's why I give it a 7/10 for story.

THE GRAPHICS: Ah, here's the sweet part. Golden Sun is a real treat to the eye. The backgrounds, the monsters, the psynergy and the weapon effects are awesome! They're jaw dropping! Camelot really did an awesome job in pushing the GBA to its limits. This proves that the GBA can show better graphics than most SNES games. Keep up the good work Camelot! I give it a 10/10.

THE GAMEPLAY: Here I'm also very impressed by Golden Sun. THe game might seem complex, but in fact, it's quite simple to understand after a while. There's a wide variety of spells ranging from giant flaming swords to volcano eruptions. The spells are very varied. This game is also full of fun puzzles. The interesting element in Golden Sun is the Djinn system. They're small creatures that join you during your quest. They have special powers that you can use, or you can also use them to summon creatures of an even greater power or simply keep them on set to enhance your status. There's 28 Djinn in Golden Sun, each character can have 7 on them. The Djinn are classified by their elements: venus(earth), mars(fire), jupiter(wind), mercury(water). Each character has his own attribute, so if you put a Djinni of their element on them, their power will be stronger than if you had put another element on them. The number of Djinn you have on you determines your class. Classes are very important because they influence your spells. To obtain certain classes(the most powerful) though, you'll have to mix and match Djinn. Thus, creating an almost endless number of spells. There's also an interactive choice system that asks the player to answer yes or no. It may become frustrating, but it adds a touch to the already overflowing elements of Golden Sun. Because this game has so many possibilities, I give it a 9.5/10 for gameplay.

THE SOUND: I have to say that I'm pretty impressed by this game's sound quality. I'm sure you know that most Gameboy games hve a poor sound quality, but this one is an exception. It's sound is very good but I still think that Camelot should have limited the music repetitions. On the other hand, the SFX are extremely good. They represent exactly how a sword would cut an enemy or a volcano erupting. They were born to unite themselves to the game's enchanting music. I give it a 9/10 for music.

REPLAY VALUE: Now this is really dissapointing. Personally, I find this adventure to be way too short. You finish the game at level 30, but you can still go to level 99. Plus the ending sucks. Luckily, Golden Sun will have a sequel tentatively titled: The Lost Age.
But, to help us agonize a little less, Golden Sun has a multiplayer mode that allows you and a friend to battle against each other. Unfortunately, you can only take 3 of your party members in a linked battle. Because of the game's length, I give it a 7/10 for replay value.

OVERALL: 9.4/10 (Not an average)

I recommend buying this game! Plus, because it's a nintendo(First-party) game, it costs less than third-party games. Overall, it's a great game with sweet graphics enchanting sound and immersive gameplay.
First of all, I would like to say that Golden Sun is a great game! I have personally beaten it 3 times and I enjoyed myself. So I recommend that even if you like RPG's just a little, go get this game!
My review:
Reviews
" This game could arguably be one of the best 2D-based Japanese RPGs created for any system. And yes, that includes Final Fantasy."
Here are some other reviews:
"Golden Sun is a throwback to some of the SNES' best."
