(Introduction page)
Yanar assisted Knuckles until it was discovered that two echidna boys were lost.  While Knuckles looked for them, Yanar was taken captive, and the tribe became slaves of the High Sheriff of Snottingham.

In order to save Yanar, Knuckles comes up with a plan.  Rob will cut the rope just before the trap door springs, Sonic will take Yanar to safety, and Mari-An will lead the tribe to safety.  Tails wants to know what to do, and Knuckles says that they will both help get rid of the bad guys.

The High Sheriff prepares to hang Yanar and asks for any last words.  Yanar says he regrets that he only has one life to give for his people.  The High Sheriff gives the signal, and Knuckles' plan goes into action.  Sonic runs with Yanar in his arms as Knuckles fights the High Sheriff.  Mari-An tells everyone to follow Sonic, who rushes toward a gate.  The gate suddenly raises, and a robot appears.  Rob decides to create a diversion by shooting flaming arrows.  A robot grabs an echidna, but Tails flies down and grabs the echidna's arm.  Rob tells everyone to back away so he can deal with Friar Buck.

Yanar tells everyone to approach the gate even though Sonic hasn't defeated the robot.  Rob helps by shooting arrows with shackles.  One hits the robot's wrist while the other hits Sonic's wrist.  Rob removes the shackle from Sonic's arm and then rasies the gate so that everyone can escape.  Mari-An tells Knuckles that they can't leave Rob and then asks about their brothers.  Knuckles explains that they aren't leaving Rob and he hasn't forgotten about her brothers.  Tails asks if they should tell Antoine about his father.  Sonic replies that they will tell Antoine nothing.

Rob climbs into a room and discovers dynamite.  Meanwhile, the High Sheriff orders the roboticized creatures to get Rob.  Rob escapes from the tower and soon the castle explodes.  Mari-An is upset until Rob suddenly appears.  Rob shows the two echidnas with them-- Mari-An's brothers Zax and Raynor.  The boys had wandered in the woods until Rob found them and had them stay at his treehut while he figured out where to return them.

Locke and his father look at Hawking, who depends on technology to continue to breathe.  Suddenly Locke is paged, and Remington is ready to give Locke a report.  The Chaotix have accepted an assignment even though they have to work with Julie-Su.  Remington then adds that Lara-Le has visited him again (just like in Knuckles the Echidna #8), wanting to see Locke.  Locke tells Remington to tell her that he will talk to her soon.

Knuckles asks what is going on with Sonic, who explains that Sally is busy being a princess; so he and Tails decided to have their own adventures (which happened in Sonic the Hedgehog #57).  Tails flies down and tells Sonic that he found the bi-plane so they can leave.  Sonic says goodbye, and Tails flies Sonic toward the bi-plane.  Yanar asks to speak with Knuckles and then tells him that he thinks he misinterpreted the Tomes about "the other."  When it appeared that Yanar would die, he had a vision of a strange city, and he believes that Yanar is the other.  Knuckles does not believe Yanar, so Yanar asks him to ask Rob if he has seen a white cliff above a beach.  Mari-An tells Rob she will not leave his side, and Knuckles stops the romantic to ask Rob about the white cliff and beach.  Rob's mouth drops open, and he walks away as if in a trance.  Knuckles, Mari-An, and Yanar follow Rob to a cliff.  Mari-An is afraid that Rob will jump, but he remains still.  White cliffs overlook the water and further away is an island where Rob has never explored.

Wynmacher approaches Lara-Le with a message from Constable Remington.  Much to Lara-Le's dismay, the message is short:  Locke will talk to her soon.

Rob and Knuckles walk on the beach with the echidna tribe following them.  Rob explains that he has always stood watch and only those who are worthy may pass him; he can tell who is worthy by his heart.  Yanar agrees and tells Knuckles that the Tomes say that a bold heart is needed.  Knuckles is shocked and says he cannot swim.  Yanar says that he only needs faith.  Knuckles slowly places his feet upon the water and asks if anybody will follow him.  Mari-An's mother tells Mari-An that it is time to go.  Mari-An says her place is with her love, Rob.  Mari-An's parents tell her goodbye, and everyone begins to walk across the water to Albion.

As the echidnas approach the city, Gala-Na welcomes them.  She explains that echidnas originally inhabited Albion and were technologically advanced.  However, some echidnas wanted to achieve more and left the city, later forming Echidnaopolis.  Gala-Na explains that they have watched the echidnas through the ages, and they now celebrate that the echidna tribe is at the end of their journey.  Yanar tells Knuckles that Athair and the previous Mitres would be proud of him.  After noticing Knuckles' sad face, he asks what is wrong.  Knuckles explains that his home is on the Floating Island.  Yanar reaches into his pouch and removes a guiding star gem.  He gives the gem to Knuckles and says Athair felt that Knuckles would know how to use it.  Yanar bids Knuckles farewell, and Knuckles walks across the water to begin his journey home.
