| My Vacation Monday |
| Since I like to exaggerate a lot on things, I decided to make a really long version of my vacation and I decided to make each day a separate page because there is so much to talk about! I was even surprised at how much I got out of this, it's really amazing what you can think of when you are just writing down everything. Well enjoy and I won't be disappointed if you only get through a couple days because it is really long! |

| Monday was another eventful day. I woke up around 10 and proceeded to watch The Price is Right on the one channel that we got service on up in Hackensack. Channel 12 otherwise known to people in the cities, Channel 4 CBS. So anyway, I watched that for a little while and then I sat outside munching on Cinnamon Toast Crunch and waiting for Steph to wake up so I could use her Conditioner. Well she never woke up so around 11 I just said forget it and climbed in the shower. I used my dad's shampoo and Steph's conditioner. I actually never told her I used it the whole week. Oops. She didn't run out so I don't think it mattered that much. I had such a hard time getting the shampoo and conditioner out of my hair it was unreal! The water was like on low pressure because it just came out like a light rain shower and my hair's so long that it takes me awhile anyway to get that stuff out. I managed to get it out though. I was surprised that the water lasted for the half hour I was in it and I didn't even have to change it from hot to cold or anything. So I got out of the shower and got dressed and ready by noon. Around 1, Nick, Steph, Emily, Nicole, my dad and I went for a boat ride to Sandy Beach and we sat and swam there for about an hour or so. Emily, Steph and I were laying on the tube and Emily was practically falling off almost because she was only using half her body to lay on it. We finally got situated for all three of us to be on the tube and then my back started hurting because I was laying in the middle with my stomach just hanging in the hole of the tube. It didn't feel too good so I decided to get off and swim to the boat and lay on the boat. Before I got off though, my dad took pictures with mine and Steph's cameras of us laying on the tube and we got Nicole laying on a raft in front of us. So then I was laying on the boat and everyone started deciding to come on the boat and sit with me. No matter what, I had no alone space when I was with those guys all week. Oh well, it's not like I didn't mind getting the attention from everyone. So then around 3 we made it back to the cabin and Nick, Steph and I went down to the swing set and we were joined by Emily and Nicole. So we were sitting down there for awhile when my dad comes down around five and says he's leaving so I walked back up to the cabin with him while he got his stuff ready and packed away. He then took me to the boat and was telling me all this stuff that I should know and to tell Ron and Jeannie about it too if they decided to take the boat out. Steph followed us and was listening to the conversation like, "Dude it's our boat, we know how to work the thing." Like the whole week they were pestering my Grandma and my dad, saying they could drive it and all that. My dad was getting fed up with it and I was just there to hear about what to do, but I wasn't even going to think about driving the boat. I'll drive a rented boat from Happiness but I won't drive my Uncle's boat because I'd be afraid of crashing it or something. Next year we are going to rent a boat so we have a boat to drive around the lake on. So then my dad left and I walked back down to the swings and swung some more. Then I went and changed into my fire clothes and gathered all the stuff I needed for the fire. I put my Anoka sweatshirt on and stuffed the Bug Spray, my cell phone, a flashlight and my CD player in the pouch. I was sitting on the wooden platform listening to my CD player when Matt came and sat down, facing me. Someone asked who Matt was listening to on his CD player and he said Eve 6, then someone asked me for the Bug Spray and I pulled it out and handed it to them. It was funny because I was already prepared for the night and Matt noticed it too and he's like, "Good ol' Cassie, always prepared." and he patted me on the leg. I had to laugh because it was funny that I was prepared. So then Steph was like Matt go start the fire. Like she demanded him to do it and so I was like please? Then when he got up he banged his head on the board that was connected from the end of the swing set to the end of the platform. It was knocked loose and he pounded it back in as he was going down. He then got the fire started and we all grabbed chairs and lounge chairs to sit on. Then the silence set in as it always did. We sat in silence just looking around, occasionally letting out a fit of giggles here and there. Then we started talking, on what I can't remember but the conversation switched to music again. Tonight I was listening to my Garth Brooks burned CD and had six more CDs shoved in my pouch. I was listening to my CD and we were talking about music and then somehow it got on the track of singing some songs. Matt and I broke into Garth Brooks favorites and we were singing several different songs. It started with Two Pina Coladas and then ended with Friends in Low Places and when it ended Steph asked who we were singing. Matt and I looked at her like are you serious? We answered with Garth Brooks, like we just couldn't believe she had just asked us that. Then Emily and Nicole started talking about the movie, Riding in Cars with Boys, and they invited everyone to go watch it. I didn't really feel like watching it, usually once I'm at the fire, I like to stay at the fire and that's what I intended to do. So Emily, Nicole and Nick started walking towards Emily's cabin and Steph was like, "I'll be there in a minute." When Emily asked me if I wanted to go, I was like no not really and then Matt was like I'll stay here with you. I thought Emily, Nicole and Nick had gone to Emily's cabin but then I heard voices over by the teeter-totter and realized they had been there since they left the fire. They were enjoying an entertaining conversation among themselves and Renee had joined the picture and was talking about all the sports she plays and all the instruments she plays. So while Steph, Matt and I were sitting at the fire, I started telling them about Chase's Grad Party and Matt proceeded to tell us about a party with his friends and what happened and all that and he also told us a few stories of him as a catcher in Baseball. After awhile the smoke started getting to my eyes and by this time Matt had switched his seat to the chair on the other side of Steph because of the smoke. I was standing on the other side of them looking at the fire when Matt was like, "This chair's not in the way of the smoke." So I sat down in it and I don't remember what we were talking about but we got on the subject of weed again. Then Matt pulled out his tube, which he called a Chillum or something like that, and showed it to Steph and then showed it to me when Steph went to go talk to everyone on the teeter-totter. I looked at it and I was like, I know but I can't smoke it right now! I wanted to but I didn't want to have Steph come back and catch me. Also when Steph was over there talking to them, Matt started talking to me about the third time he cheated and it was the last year he had come up here and hung out with Kelly from the lodge. So while he's talking to me about it, Renee joins us and sits down in the chair in between us. After Matt was done with his story, I asked Renee what the people were talking about at the teeter-totter and Matt was like oh my gosh, I didn't even realize it was you! He thought it was Steph who was joining us again, it was pretty funny. So then the seats got rearranged again because Matt moved from the smoke and so did Renee and now they were sitting on the other side of me. Our curfew was still undecided so when it came to be 1 I didn't really feel like going in so I stayed out. I was talking to Renee about what her curfew was and she's like I don't have one and I was you're lucky man. She was kind of bragging about it which didn't bother me all that much. Steph and Nick had gone in and then Steph came back out at quarter after one and said I had to go in. So Renee was like so you have a curfew and I was like it looks like it. I wasn't really disappointed all that much and when I had to leave, Matt was like I'm going to leave and so we put out the fire and everyone headed in different directions. I fell asleep about 1:30 after being reminded that Grandma taped David Letterman for me because Colin Farell was going to be a guest. I like Colin Farell and Dee doesn't and so it was fun talking to her about it. She didn't like him for the same reasons I liked him, it proved for a good conversation in the days to come. |
