"WHAT are you DOING?" Shouted Slick as he ran past Kooth Aan heading him off just before the entrance.
"You have no right to get in my way, regardless of the situation" Remarked Kooth Aan who along with many others in the building fell down because of an collision of something against the outside wall.
When the group of mecenaries helped each other up they looked at each other wondering if this trip to protect Kooth Aan was worth getting themeselves killed over. Finally, without saying a word the group resolved to atleast see what the trouble was.
When they were just about to go throught the door, two of the blue guards passed them in a rush and went through the doors out onto the street. The mercenaries saw as the two guards ran straight towards two large robot tanks.
The robot tanks were very large and operated on four mechanical legs. They both had a quad laser and a torpedo launcher attached to a pivoting mount on top of them. These weapon systems alternated firing in amazing syncronization. Their fire was consentrated at the west wall of Kooth Aans splenderful palace.
The Guards although seemingly out numbered ran straight at the first tank. Once they were withen twelve yards firing range they stopped. From the positiont the mercenaries were in they could only see the two guards extend their close hands towards each other and a large beam of light emit from their hands
The blue light emitted from the guards shot across the plaza and plowed straight into the back of first tank, causing an eruption of meterials to fly into the air. The mercenaries stood back in wonder.
"If they have weaponry like that why did they need us to protect their leader?" inquired Wolf Hunter
"Well its not the force. I would have felt something" Said Slick calmly
"ITS A TRAP!" cried Aloaf
During these mumbled questions and statements the other tank had just enough time to pivot its turret towards the guards. With this simple motion taken care of, the muzzle of the cannon seemed to gather small orbs of light towards it before a large stream of light burst out and rushed with precission straight for the guards. The laser found its mark and fragments of the guards were thrown into the air.
The thought of body parts removed from the whole of the body has disgusted many people throughout history, and the feelings of disgust that the mercenaries were feeling as part of the arm of one of the guards was blasted towards them quickly disappeared when they heard a--CLANK!!
"These guards are ROBOTS!" shouted Cozoc defening those around him who stood flabbergasted, merely staring at the metallic arm lying on the ground.
Both Slick and Wolf Hunter new that they too had to get ready for the tanks next attack. They ran towards the tank knowing that if they could get close to the tank they could get under the tanks range of attack. As they ran the others came to their senses and followed close behind.
The tank seemed as if it didn't even notice the advance of the mercenaries and went right back to demolishing the wall. This gave Akai an idea.
"Comrads! The time has come, for the salvation of this building and the resurection of our hope." stated Akai quite eloquently, "Hohoemu call your ship, the turrets on these monstrosities cannot aim skywards and you can have your R4 unit demolish the turret leaving whatever is underneath it to us."
Akai's speech was captivating and Hohoemu began to call up his R4 unit before he even realized it.
"Beep-boop-beep" Came the reply from the reciever in the duro's hand.
"We need you to make a hit and run, at my current position. Charge the QuadLaser systems and blast the tank to pieces." ordered Hohoemu.
"Beep-bip-beep" Was the binary reply.
