A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...*Star Wars Theme music*
A large ship equiped with a moderate weapons system barreled through space at a high rate of speed towards the small and seemingly peaceful planet of Tanaab. A tall duro was piloting the ship while the annoying chattering of a R2 unit was heard in the backround. As Hohoemu saw the small spec that was their ultimate destination grow rapidly larger he slowed down his large ship at a gentle regular pace until and set the ship to cruising speed.
The intercom began to crackle as the space station hailed Hohoemu's ship.
"What is your cargo and destination?" asked a monotone voice.
Hohoemu tapped a few buttons that relayed the required information to the space port.
"I hope this mission pays well." Remarked one of the passengers aboard the 'Divine Retribution'. His name was Slick . (later changed to Lord Barak when the Order of Nephal was created) Hohoemu looked back at his longtime friend and smiled. "Me too" he said and then he chuckled to himself as he thought of all the times they had almost died fighting alongside each other...
"Hey! Keep your eyes on the grid!" joked Cozoc seeing that Hohoemu was staring into the empty space between his chair and the wall.
Hohoemu grabbed the steering controls harshly and began jerking them around a bit, which in the end did nothing because they were in space and the constant gravity was under their feet no matter what direction they were turned or going. But none the less Slick and Cozoc laughed.
"Whats so funny?" questioned Wolf Hunter confusedly as he entered into the large cockpit.
"Nothing" replied the others in unison. And then they continued to laugh.
While they were laughing the intercom buzzed again, this time with nearly no crackling sound (because the ship had become closer to the planet and the wave lengths were more easily recieved). "You are cleared to enter, go to dock 342 an emissary will be awaiting you there and with set you up with a hotel."
Hohoemu punched a few buttons around the cockpit and then stood up, "My R2 unit can land us, I want to make an anouncement to the crew in person." He walked past his three closest friends and into the a large hall way that lead past sleeping quarters and finally ended up in a large lounge room. Inside the room sat all of Hohoemu's closest friends. There was Akai, Savan, Aloaf, and Laertes Marcellus.
"We are about to land," Stated Hohoemu "There will be a welcoming limo when we arive--" Hohoemu was cut of by a round of applause and "Whohoo's".
After a few moments of cheering he continued. "This planet is pretty peaceful as far as I've read--" Hohoemu was cut off again by Savan who said "He found it on the internet, so it must be true." More laughter filled the lounge at Savan's joke.
When the 'Divine Retribution' landed it's passengers began to ready themselves. Almost everybody was loading thier pistols and rifles with fresh cells, or polishing their blades. This was a special day, and they were going to see a very important person. The ruler of Tanaab: Kooth Aan.
The spaceship slowly descended into the port, under the very advanced piloting skills of an r2d7 unit. Landing gear hissed as the ship settled on the ground. Slowly a ramp extended out of the ships back wall just a meter under the engines. Once the ramp had gotten all the way to the ground a blast door slid open rapidly and the passengers and crew were visable.
The large group of elite mercenaries walked expeditiously down the ramp and towards the docking bay doors. They were greeted by a small Kowakian known as 'Obi Doob Scoobi Doob Banubi' (this name came from thumb wars by Steve Odekirk) and is in fact the silliest name in the galaxy.
OOBI DOOB SCOOBI DOOB BANUBI
said the small but gruff voice of Obi Doob. Who as soon as he was finished speaking, went straight to the limo got in and waited.
"They sure have cool looking pets on Tanaab."Joked Cozoc. The small head of the kowakian peered out of the Limo and glared at Cozoc for a brief time and then disapeared withen the car once again
"Come on, lets get this over with" said Slick as he walked forward and into the limo. Slowly the rest of the group followed, and soon they were speeding through an airborne highway straight for Kooth Aan's residence, the capitol building.
The capitol building was brilliantly constructed. It shone in the sunlight casting its light to and fro upon its surrounding nieghbors. It was a tall rounded building constructed with what seemed to be mirrors. It was adorned with many gardens, arches and statues. A more perfect building did not exist (at least thats what Kooth Aan believed...)
KOOTH AAN
Kooth Aan was a Zabrak. He wore royal robes of blue and his head was never covered. Kooth was very proud of the horns adorning his head, and had them polished every other week. He had two body guards that would follow him where ever he went.
Kooth Ann stood on the steps outside the large capitol building proudly as the band of mercenaries arived in their air limo. Slowly the mercenaries got out of the car and looked about them in awe. The streets about them were not very crowded and the surrounding town was seemingly primitive (compared to the splender of Coruscant).
CORUSCANT
"Welcome to Tanaab!" exclaimed the tall zabrak, with a smile beaming on his face. "It appears you have arrived just in time, please follow me into my office." With that Kooth Aan began a prideful stride through the doors of the building, stopped and waited.
The mercenaries began to climb the steps, and follow Kooth Aan, but, when they got to the door they were stopped by the two large guards.
Please leave your weaponry here at the door." Said the loud voice of the guard nearest the door. The guard did not move to intercept the group but merely stood in its original position. The mercenaries were used to this kind of treatment based on their many encounters with nobles throughout their lives, even when they were working by themselves. They all complyed with the request and placed their weapons inside the storage containers provided by the Tanaab Government. The mercenaries followed the two guards through the grand doors and into the main lounge of the Capitol building. The room was crowded with many important looking peoples of nearly every race, all going about their business. Hardly any of the people noticed the mercenaries as they walked through the middle of the room and into a long corridor. The corridor had many closed doors and it would be impossible for the a person that hadn't lived there for a while to know which door leads to where. The guards led the group nearly to the end of the hall before motioning them into a large room. The room was decorated almost regally and had a beautiful tapestry hanging on its southern wall, right in front of a large desk. Behind this desk sat the renowned Zabrak, Kooth Aan. Kooth Aan greeted his protectors with merely a nod and extended his arm in a gesture that indicated them to sit down on the chairs provided for them. They did as Kooth Aan gestured and sat down in no particular order or place. Slick was the first one to speak, "We have come by order of the Galactic Republic (The in exchange for their lives after they had been caught for a crime they gave their skills and experience to the government for a term of eighteen months)in order to insure your protection." Kooth Aan regarded him for a moment and then spoke: "I know the government is worried about a revolt, based on some knowledge spied out of our city, but I really don't think that there is any personal danger for me!" With that he chuckled out loud and then began again, "No offense but I think the government is wasting its eff--" Just as he was finishing his long prepared speech the lights went out in the building and several loud explosions could be heard echoing down the hall from the main entrance. The group of highly trained mercenaries stayed calm... They knew that there was no imediate danger, and saving someone's building who had just told them their skills were usless was not high on their priority list After a few moments their patience paid off. The lights came back on and they all looked at each other and smiled, then they looked about the room. "Is that Kooth Aan hiding in the corner?" exclaimed Wolf Hunter Yep! Someone else said and they all began to laugh. That is until Kooth Aan got up from the fetel position and faced them, with a cool expression plastered onto his face. "Probably just some demolition team..." Kooth Aan remarked as if reasuring himself and not actually stating a fact. He then preceded to walk to the door that lead into the hall and walked towards the front entrance. "That guy is a nut!" exclaimed Hohoemu "That nut is going to cost us our job and send us back to the court system! Yelled Slick, who ran after the noble. The rest of the group seeing the logic in Slick's actions followed him out the door down the hall to head off Kooth Aan and to see what had happened.End of Chapter 1
