Okay, Ill be having 8 judges ^__^ This is so that if a judges fic is entered, he/she will not judge for the category, but there will be at least some back-ups. And each judge will take 4 categories only. (if I were to make them judge them all categories geez, they need a Life too, yknow.) And how are the fics gonna be judged? (Most of these are based on Ritz-samas A~ano FY Fanfic Contest, if I could think up of such good stipulations, Id be a genius) Grammar, HTML-ing and spelling (5 marks) This is a giveaway marks category ^__^ As long as you grammar and spelling are good, you should score here for Japanese terms, marks will not be deducted as most of us areJapanese Illiterate ^_^;; Judges are also going to give allowances for British-American differences (e.g. color & coloUr etc.). Some of us live on different sides of the Pacific Ocean, and its only fair. Judges will minus marks for each mistake. And try to have good HTML-ing, and coordinate your HTML files colour and font size?Originality (10 marks) Is this fic original, have you seen the plot before?Characterization (10 marks) Do the characters stay in character? Is it OOC? Is Mikagami suddenly smiling and falling in love with girls? (Lets hope that doesnt happens, unless the author can do it in a gradual, natural way, or give a good explanation for Mi-chans rise in, um hormones)Plot (10 marks) The most important part of it all. Does the story have a cohesive plot? Is it interesting? Is it intriguing? Does it lead you on?Style (5 marks) Is the fic smooth, does it flow? Or does it jerk all the way? Are the points in the plot always carried out in a proper order, or is the author just going round and round?Overall (10 marks) Just the general feeling the judges have for each ficTotal marks = 50. Okay, heres when it gets confusing. You see, Ill take the scores and arrange them according to their rank. For example: Fic A has 45 marks, fic B has 42 marks, and fic C has 47 marks from Judge 1. So if the results were decided just using Judge 1's scores, then fic C will be first, fic A second, and fic B third. Or, in other words, fic C scores 1, fic A scores 2, and fic B scores 3. Then the score Judge 2 gives is 43, 40, and 44 for A, B and C respectively. And so on for the other judges. Essentially, the lower you score, the better. Like how being 1st is better than being 6th. So the ranking for the scores from 6 judges would be: Fic A: 2, 1, 3 Fic B: 3, 3, 2 Fic C: 1, 2, 1 Then Ill add up the rankings, so A gets 6, B gets 8, and C gets 4. Then Ill find the MSG (no, not the poisonous substance in food ^^;;), by dividing it by 3, so the final product is A = 2, B = 2.66 and C gets 1.33. So C is obviously the winner, ne? Understand? *Silence greets her* Okay *sweatdrop* Why don't I take the average of the different scores? But since A, which got a close score but was pulled down due to 1 low score, it wont win, but it would get an honourable mention. ^__^ Just to commend some people who came close. Isnt it easy? *silence, crickets chirp* A~ano... don't worry if you don't understand. As long as I understand what I'm doing, everything should be fine. (Tokiya: We're doomed.) All judges are encouraged to be as straightforward as possible, but not nasty, or rude. People put a lot of effort into their fics, and you cant just flame them then and there. Judges are also hopefully impartial, dont give good marks because the authors your friend, or the fics about your favourite character, and you dont want to be too critical. All judges will be given full anonymity. This is to ensure the judges um safety against flames by disgruntled participants. ^__^ (Its not been known to happen but hey, youll never know ^^;;) These judges are going to have to put a lot of heart into their judging, and be judging fics instead of pursuing a Life, so appreciate them, people. As to the voting, the judges votes carry the weight of 5 points while the people's vote have the weight of 1 point. All judges will be judging the Overall fic category.
