Here are just some answers to whatever questions you may have.
Q: So, uh, what is FoR?
A: A~ano, you don't even know? FoR is the acronym for Flame of Recca, or Recca no Honoo, a continuing series by Nobuyuki Anzai. It's published weekly in the shounen manga magazine Shounen Sunday, and to date has 26 manga volumes. Manga volumes 1 to 16 has been adapted into a 42 episode anime by Studio Pierrot. For more info, check out the sugoi Flame of Recca Museum run by Bottou-chan, or even better, check out the nice collection of FoR sites at Anipike.
Q: So who runs this little thingamajig?
A: I do. But not without a little help from people like Char (my very good friend in real life), Charlene (the sugoi person who volunteered to make the award plaques), Jiaxian (for being a sponsor), and Lockheart, Raydance, Lynn-chan and Saturn, all of whom provided me with feedback and comments and suggestions and encouragement and to people like Naumi-chan (who volunteered to be my last judge), and Dilimon, Mayumi-sama, and Ri-chan (who volunteered to be a sponsor just as I was at my wit's end trying to find a way to make ends meet without declaring bankruptcy.). Thank you minna. ^_^
Q: Who are the judges?
A: Um... people? Well, to be exact, I have Lockheart, Charlene, Char, Lynn-chan, Jiaxian, Raydance, Saturn and Naumi-chan as the poor sucke-- Aa, *ahem* judges who are in charge of the fate of all fics nominated...
Q: What's a fanfic?
A: A fanfic or fanfiction refers to fiction/stories about a certain book, manga, TV series etc. written by fans, still using the same characters featured in the original. These stories have no relevance or relation to the original series and no profit is generated from these ventures. To see more fanfiction about all sorts of different stuff (from books to cartoons to anime), go to www.fanfiction.net.
Q: So, I want to write a fanfic for this thingamajig, but I don't know how?
A: A~ano... O_o;
Q: No, I'm serious, how do you write a fanfic?
A: Ano... imagination. Imagination is the key! When you've got imagination, all that's left to be done is turning on your computer and applying pressure onto the keyboards ^^
Q: What does Shiyoji mean?
A: Shiyoji is Japanese for penmanship. The whole name was an accident... I asked my RL friend Peiying to help me translate something, and she mistook it completely and turned up with Shiyoji instead. So there it was...
Q: I don't understand your judging system!!!
A: A~ano... can't help you there. If you want to read a ridiculously long explanation, E-mail me....
Q: Can judges nominate fics?
A: Yes, of course.
Q: Is there any limit to the number of fics a person can nominate?
A: Nope. As long as you follow all the rules, you can nominate as many fics as you want.
Q: Is it absolutely necessary to include all the info you've asked for in the nomination form?
A: Yes. Yes, it is very important. Unless you don't have anywhere to upload your fic to, you can just leave the URL field blank or type: To be sent over later. However, the other fields are crucial, so please try to find out all the necessary info before filling in the nomination form. The author's e-mail addy is needed so that we can locate or communicate with the author easily. If you leave any one of the fields blank (with exception of the URL field under the aforementioned circumstance) then the nomination will be disqualified. ^_^
Q: Um, are you on medication?
A: *pause* No...? *mumbles to herself* The nice people in white coats said I didn't have to tell anyone...
Any questions? You know what to do... ^^
