HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL SHARON GLESS FANS!
22.11.2003
TRANSCRIPT
75 years of CBS
As the theme to Cagney & Lacey plays...
Announcer: "Please welcome Tyne Daly and Sharon Gless"
(Tyne comes from the left and Sharon from the right. They reach a hand out to each other and walk to the podium)
Tyne: "Thank you. Thank you. It's good to be here. Together again."
Sharon: "It's been so long, I forget which one I was."
Tyne: "Uh, the one with the bad attitude."
Sharon: (in classic Cagney sarcasm) "Really?"
Tyne: "Trust me"
Sharon: "K, fine! Knock yourself out."
Tyne: (in classic Lacey recovery from Cagney sarcasm...as Sharon Gless smiles) "Beginning in 1949 with the detective drama Man Against Crime, CBS has brought stories of law enforcement to the screen. From gritty realism and clever whodunits to cartoon heros and action-packed flights of fancy where the good guy always wins."
Sharon: "Lets open the eye..shall we...and take a look at some of the crime fighters who cornered the bad guys and kept us all on the edge of our seats."
What followed was a presentation of the history of police-based shows on CBS. The clip for Cagney & Lacey was from the series finale.

MAXINE, INTERRUPTED #415
Tyne Daly is reunited with Cagney & Lacey costar Sharon Gless in this episode. Gless plays Sally Godwin, an up-and-coming politician, with whom Maxine forged a bond when they were fledgling social workers. Sally visits DCF under the pretext of catching up with an old friend. But her mission is actually more official: She's evaluating Maxine's job performance, which has come under fire due to her frequent disregard of the law. It's a tense situation that threatens to boil over when the two clash over how to handle a case involving a 4-year-old with an STD. Elsewhere, a father (Jeffrey Pierce) testifies on behalf of his teen daughter, who's on trial for attempting to kill him.

REMAKE
Nicole Kidman is stepping into a remake of the 1975 cult classic sci-fi thriller The Stepford Wives, according to Daily Variety.
The original Stepford was written by Oscar-winning scribe William Goldman (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Princess Bride) and directed by Bryan Forbes and has a cast that included Ross, Peter Masterson, Paula Prentiss and a post-Gilligan's Island Tina Louise. It spawned a lightly regarded sequel, Revenge of The Stepford Wives, starring Don Johnson and Sharon Gless, came out in 1980. While the 1975 version was a thriller in the vein of The Invasion of the Body Snatchers, the remake, as penned by Paul Rudnick (In & Out, The Addams Family Values), will update the story to fit the profile of today's upper-middle-class SUV-driving soccer moms and, Variety says, will be more of a stylish black comedy.
