THE SHARON GLESS FAN CLUB (UK)
The Sharon Gless fan club in the UK is an official fan club
fully supported by Sharon. The club is an affiliate of the original (U.S.) club. They began as one entity in March 1984 & then later separated into two.

The following interview with one of the two fan club
presidents will give you more information about the history,
the intentions and the future of the club.
Question: Since when does the club exist?
Answer: The club has been going for about 12 to 13 years.
Question: Can you tell a bit about the history of the fan club?
Answer: After we had permission from Sharon we started a simple stapled photocopied N/L which has progressed to the present magazine style.
Sharon encouraged us from the beginning and the club
has always been official. We now have members all over
the UK, all over Europe, Australia and the USA.
Question: How many people work for the fan club?
Answer: The club is run by 2 presidents, Margaret and
myself. We do all the work ourselves.
Question: What is your work?
Answer: I edit, produce and send out the N/L 4 times a year.
Margaret is in charge of subscriptions and new members and
managing the money. We also sell merchandise and deal with
all enquiries about Sharon ETC. It is hard work all year but
we enjoy it and it is a privilege to represent Sharon.
Question: What is the intention of the club?
Answer: The intention is to keep the fans informed of what
she does and help them to keep in touch with each other.
Question: From where do you get your information?
Answer: We get our information from Sharon either directly or
through her personal assistant. We are able to contact her at
any time for information.
Question: What possibilities gives the club to the members?
Answer: Apart from giving regular info about Sharon, fans
also get the opportunity to make friends with fellow fans
They receive the N/L which always has photos (front one is
coloured). We have regular raffles and auctions and many of
the prizes are sent by Sharon who has sent many personal
possessions to help raise our funds. She even gave us her
wedding dress which we have kept so that fans can see it at
our regular get togethers. You can even try it on if you are
slim! We sell unique merchandise, including photos we have
taken while Sharon is in England and a club video taken over
several occasions when Sharon met up with us all while over
here. NB these items are only available through the club.
Question: Can you talk a bit about meetings the club made?
Answer: We have regular get togethers for members (usually May
and October) when we meet to chat have fish and chips and buy
things from our 'scrap box' full of photos and articles etc.
Sharon has appeared in 2 West End plays and both times we
organized several club 'trips' to see the play. On the occassion
of each of these 'trips' Sharon set aside time either before or
after the show to meet up with the members to chat and allow
them to take photos. So all members had a chance of a personal
meeting.
Question: What plans does the club have for the future?
Answer: We hope to continue the club for as long as Sharon
and the members want us to. When Sharon has brief promotional
trips to London she always contacts us and invites us to meet
up with her and discuss her club and give us up to date info.
We hope she will soon appear on stage here again and if she
does we will arrange club outings as before.
Question: Any final comments for fans?
Answer: We would like you all to join us. Sharon loves her
club and all her members. She also loves to meet up with them
whenever she is here long enough. Although Margaret and I have
met Sharon now on numerous occasions we still are thrilled
every time and we still remember how much we wanted to meet
her - and never dreamed we would! So we share all our meetings
and all our information, photos etc with the club members.
All members are welcome to take part in the N/L with letters,
articles etc. Sharon always reads our N/L and expresses her
appreciation. All are welcome at get togethers (including
