• CONCLUSION

    Although this WebQuest may be considered time consuming by some educators, I feel that the information and skills that students will gain far outweigh the brief sidestep from traditional lecture and group work.  Technology is all around us and will continue to impact society for years to come.  As educators, it is important to prepare our students for the employment industry so they have the skills to succeed in their future endeavors.  It is also important for students to refine their critical thinking abilities (accomplished here via Macbeth) and to be able to communicate effectively with others (which is obtained through journalism products) to be successful adults.  I believe that the research component of this WebQuest can be completed in three class periods.  The remainder may be completed through in-class work or as homework.  If the latter method is chosen, I recommend creating steps and deadlines for these steps so students can pace themselves and have the opportunity to revise their final work.
