The Old Couple
These are my old friends Woody and Jeffrey, who have been a couple since long before I met them in 1994. Woody lived in a wonderful house on South Allen Street in State College, and he was roommates with Matt when Matt and I were dating. Alas, the house is no longer safe haven to our old gang when they come to town because the third roommate, Todd, recently went and invited completed strangers to live there instead of inviting younger friends of ours to continue the tradition. Woody and Jeffrey had been living in the D.C. area at that particular point in time. Recently, though, they moved back in State College. Apparently, they realized that although D.C. may have offered more material options, the extra options were merely variations on things that were all readily available in State College, and that State College lacked all of the creature discomforts that came with D.C.’s options: traffic tie-ups, unwalkable distances, attitude, and so forth. Good for them!
