And the Reception?

The wedding itself was wonderful. He’s Jewish, she’s Irish Lithuanian. So they had the traditional Jewish wedding with a Rabbi presiding and a Huppa (I still don’t know how to spell this; if anyone has a clue, fill me in) and, of course, the traditional role of the standard homosexual usher was filled in by me; but they had her march down the aisle to a lovely Irish hymn from Riverdance. Much more interesting than that “Here Comes the Bride” drivel you usually have to endure. It was very spontaneous (the Rabbi threw in some humor for good measure: “And Christine, there will be days when you come home from work tired, angry, and frustrated, and Adam will say those three words that make all the difference in the world -- let’s eat out.”), sincere, and touching.

Afterwards, we all attended the reception, which was a blast... klezmer music, Irish jigs, Madonna and the B-52’s... could you ask for a more diverse reception? And of course you see all of the Penn Staters who were willing to schlep all the way to Michigan to show our old roommate how much we love him: Kristy, Shroom (oh, by the way... Shroom and Adam were roommates in 1993/1994... flow chart! flow chart!), Adam, Christine, Finnerty, and myself. Oh, don’t I look just so smooth having a complete spaz attack in this photo?
