New Year's Morning, 1991
This is Derek Zardus, who was my best friend at Governor’s School. I went to visit him in Boston during the winter break my freshman year at Penn State. We got very drunk and wound up taking some oddly posed and slightly out-of-focus black and white photos, quite interesting actually. For years I was unable to contact him, although I periodically kept in touch with his younger brother, Craig. Now that I am living in Philadelphia, I get to see Craig and his wife, Michelle, every couple of weeks, which is great. Craig and I are periodic drinking buddies, and I^#146ve also had the two of them over for board games... supposedly, Craig and I will be becoming jogging buddies, as well, because he wants to run a couple of local 5 & 10K marathons. I would love to run them, too, but so far they fall on weekends when I’m planning on being out of town. Craig and Michelle also have been to see me in both shows at Society Hill Playhouse, and even brought Derek and his wife to one. Derek, incidentally (that is what this page was about, wasn’t it?) is married and living somewhere in Canada and running a soup restaurant. No soup for you! Come back one year!
