Alternative manual installation
(same version and license as above)
Shaker_manual_install.zip
Highly recommended if you're comfortable with manual installs, and
appreciate the simplicity of all configuration and temp files kept in
the program's
folder
(so just deleting the program folder completely uninstalls). You don't
even need to Run as Administrator to install. Unzip the
download
file to a subfolder of your user profile folder,
e.g. "C:\Users\<your
login name>\Shaker" (or anywhere else in
your profile, including Desktop), and run
Shaker.exe. For convenience
you'll probably want to create a shortcut to Shaker.exe on your Desktop
or Start Menu.
Note: The program writes all files to its own folder (except
generated playlists wherever you choose) only if it's in a
subfolder
your user profile folder. If you put it anywhere else (like
the
Program Files folder), configuration and temp files will be written to
your user profile's AppData folder to avoid causing User Access Control
warnings from Windows.
New
in version 3.3
Added option: Global limit of play frequency, to override any
song's higher frequency
from sum of multiple Song Groups selected.
Added option: Playlists have relative paths, enabling
directory
sync of music files for Android phones, as alternative to phone's sync
app. (Maybe iPhones too, but
not tested)
Bug fix: Some settings with the portable/manual installation were still
saved in the user's AppData folder.
Minor wording and appearance changes in some windows.

Open Source code for Shaken, not stirred
3.3
ShakerOpenSourceCode.zip
Includes Microsoft Visual Studio 2017 C++ project files for the Shaker.exe
program file, and HTML Help Workshop project files for the Shaker.chm
Help
file.
While the actual code includes a lot of explanatory comments, the
enclosed ReadMe.html has only minimal overview documentation. I hope to
update the Open Source download file with better documentation
eventually, but don't really know how motivated I'll be to spend time
on
that. If you're an author seriously considering using Shaker's code,
please feel free to contact me with any questions, and I'll be glad to help.
