Benjamin Shackelton Family
Benjamin was the oldest child and son of John Ogden Shackelton and Anny "Mary" Wintermute. He moved to Ancona, Illinois in 1856 and then on to Kansas in 1869. Benjamin cared for his mother after his father's death and she moved with him and his family to Kansas. Benjamin was a farmer and also a craftsman. He made many covered wagons and repaired wheels.
