Twirl Into The Sun

I climbed up the staircase
That twirls into the sun
And I took a step backward
To where the world had first begun

The scissors and the razor blades
That cut down boxes
Were used to skin the rabbits
The hairs and the foxes

With a gun at one hand
And a dog at the other
We've come to kill the geese
And bring them home to mother

Where she'll cut off its head
And rip out it's intestines
And fry it in a pan
And ask all sorts of questions

Where did you go?
What did you see?
Why did you leave
Without first telling me?

We went to the pool of
Hesh-von Trodden
We dove down deep
And swam to the bottom.

That's where we found the staircase
That twirls into the sun
And took a step backward
To where this poem had first begun
