LimeLight
Though the skies are gray
The sun shines through the gate
So they both walk away
From the school full of hate

As the feline blew
The children flew
And now in the tower
The birds rondevue

In the middle of the night
They met someone new
For the day was too bright
It wouldn't do, wouldn't do

He looked like a frog
But had the stature of a man
Into the fire he threw a log
And cooked some fish in a pan

Over the bridge
And through the snow
And down into a crevice
Of stone we go

To the north! she cried,
Without a minute to wait
For we'll be locked outside
If we arrive too late

And bother these channels
Of dead end paths
There's nothing like a house
With soft beds and hot baths

Enjoying wine from a thimble
And the wrong kind of stag
Put a knife to your throat
And try not to gag

For the cookery book
Has a horrid recipe
With our own flesh and blood
As a delicacy

The terrified visitors
plan their route
Easily in
but not easily out

Through the kitchen we'll escape
The ruined city we'll go under
For we'll be eaten by these giants if we stay
I shouldn't wonder

Into the dark we fall away
While getting beaten all along
With only one thing left to say:
"My tinder box has gone"

Descending deep into the earth
Where the sun will never shine
Only a drowsy greenish radiance
A gloomy light of lime

Thinking back upon the lady
And the covered up knight
She led us right into a trap
And tried to kill us out of spite

Dressed up in full armor
And yet quiet as a mute
Though he rode upon a horse
Was there a man inside that suit?

Yet in his castle he went crazy
Like a man gone insane
He ranted and he raved
But then he called upon the name

He foamed at the mouth
He huffed and he puffed
Dare we untie him
Lest the fourth sign be muffed?

They risked their lives indeed
As they each cut a cord
In the moment he was freed
He went straight for his sword

After ten long years
of the enchanted prison
The chair is now broken
And the son is risen

Speaking up for the truth
Is such a struggle and a fight
It takes up all your energy
Though you know you're in the right

The reality up above
Seems faded and unclear
Deception brings on slumber
In the thickening atmosphere

So put your foot to the fire
And clear away the smoke
Put your sword to the serpent
And then slit her throat

Forsake and forget about
The world where darkness rules
Where there's chaos and confusion
And pig faced ghouls

Come out of that cave
Into the light where you can see
Unto the Lord and King
All creation bows the knee

As the feline blew
The background flew
And lying underwater
A friend I once knew

Into the river we all die
And before sinking into the mud
We're raised to new life
By the power of His blood

May this double-edged truth
Make wise the fool
May Heaven's armies advance
and reform our school
