| In the story of Ruth
I asked God to show me
Her passion for truth and love for Naomi As a needy old widow On Ruth she leaned Who worked hard by day In the fields she gleaned A true man of God named Boaz had seen her And would later become her kinsman-redeemer For this woman was highly esteemed So we also esteem and speak well of our sisters Who work so hard they even give themselves blisters They bend over backwards to go the extra mile Loving what�s good and despising what�s vile Staying holy and pure 'till they walk down the aisle Beaming with life they joyfully smile In righteous robes they dress with style The spirit of this age utterly scorns them For with modest apparel holiness adorns them Their decency and propriety go against today�s society And though fools choose not to listen Through the wise Jesus warns them And it�s those who are wise who we seek to recognize With this fanciful feast to the girls from the guys While the world is selling out These girls are yelling out- �We�re never gonna compromise!� They're not full of vanity With the world�s latest fashion They're full of Holy Spirit fire, Gods love, and compassion Their light does not go out at night But their great delight is in keeping it bright For the Wonderful Counselor is teaching them right And with each lesson, they press in And never get bored Always confessing That Jesus is Lord We just can�t help admiring Young women so inspiring Who with gentleness and kindness Bring sight where there�s blindness They speak with wisdom and knowledge And faithful instruction To save those in college From eternal destruction They�re filled with the Spirit And the Words of the Bible Believers can hear it, it�s a coming revival As the people assemble , rejoicing they tremble Frozen hearts become thawed By His presence overawed The holy women of God in His Word they resemble For Esther was a woman with a beautiful appearance And when asked to risk her life showed courageous perseverance She was a woman of purity and Christ-like maturity Devoted to the Lord in spite of all interference She fasted and prayed That God�s people He�d redeem In God�s will she stayed And overturned the devil�s scheme What a beautiful mystery, gone down in history So this honorary dinner has a similar theme To women noble in character, holy, and true Appreciation, honor, and recognition are due Who are born again and made like new On the narrow path and among the few Living it out till they�re 82 Serving the Lord without seeking reward To our Chi Alpha sisters This one�s for you |
| An expensive gem A precious stone Whom Jesus formed from Adam's bone So us gentlemen wouldn't live alone Worthy of adoration She's the climax of creation The most beautiful formation That the world has ever known Sisters of Princes And daughters of the King's Intricately woven By the Creator of all things Showing intelligence and elegance It�s joy that she brings Her benevolence giving evidence "Unto the rugged cross she clings" |
