Zelda 9.23

Total: 4.30.16 and falling :) Go Me! (Dropped 10 seconds in one day) Hoping to drop more time this weekend and the rest of this week

I can do better with Shiek...I think I can even get into the low 7s if I put some time into it...the Triforce Jump turns out to not be that hard

YoungBlood, i'd try to lower Jigglypuff (sub 9), Kirby (low 15), Samus (sub 11 maybe?), Pichu (well.. you'd have to try the sub 7 strat =//), Yoshi (mid 9s)... that's what I would start with.. oh and Doc 13.4x

Yoshi sub10 strat:

1) Jump then quick double jump while moving right and throw an egg hard to the left (up B then hold the up long and quickly move the stick right).

2) Fastfall last, and then turn and rejump and quickly double jump, lob an egg upwards and left.

3,4,5,6) Before you land B down, and go from the target right under you to the right and hit the two targets, then come back left and hit the one far under where you start.

7) Break out of your egg and dash left, jump and aerial neutral A the target in the air.

8) Double jump and up A the target in the backwards C. You should be very close to hitting the ceiling, just make sure you do the up A and it'll work fine. Don't swith to the next move too quickly.

9,10) Falling down, do a back A through the wall to hit the next two targets.

Goal: sub10 CaptainFlufflez got: 9.60

Things to add: I think target 7 goes faster if you use an up A but I'm not so sure. You might have to small jump for that. Also, it's possible to wavedash between 6 and 7 but probably not more than once or twice.

w00t.
24/25 sub 15

That Kirby strat was a little bit messed up and retarded but it worked nice and well. To do the burner hit you have to backwards jump from right to left onto the leftmost part of the bottom burner, then press X or Y to jump almost right away and hit the next target, then it'll keep throwing you through. Also marth1, M64M updated his FAQ. Should I go for Ness sub15 now, or just concentrate on my total? I'm getting close.

fluff- when you small jump neutral+A, smash left AS SOON as you hit target 1 and your jump (after you landed) should have enough lenght to land on the first bumper..

as for the bumper hit, marth1, just let jiggly land on the first bumper and it will propel her to the left, as soon as it does, press Y or whatever to mid-air-jump, then forward+A... from there, fast-fall and go through the last set of bumper, and go on..

anyway..

1,2,3,4 - jump forward b.....double jump forward a...forward b

5 - maximum double jump up+b

6 - running jump forward a

7 - double jump forward b

8- forward b OVER bumper

9, 10 - fastfall (the bit i nver do >_<) up b

and that will get u 7 flat at best probably....

Seems to me you just got a lucky run. The forward B for the first target is the only thing that you're doing different than I am that would make you go faster. I do a forward A, double jump down A, L cancel, Forward B for the first four targets and so does Senju and so do a couple of our gamefaqs pros. Dunno if the forward A for target 2 works better but it seems to me that it shouldn't be faster. I'll see what I can do though since Roy is a fun one.

yeh i love roy because u can just pick up and play....without having to work yourself into it....eg. ness, IC...

forward A's are definately faster....because forward b's stop u almost dead while u swing...but forward b's are a little safer because it doesnt throw u as high.....thats the way i see it anyway....
i should learn to L cancel >_<

fluffy go for Doc WR?? if u can do 13 46 u can do 13 40 right? :o is it hard to go from the 13.8x strat to the 13.4 strat?

It was hard to adjust to doing the WR strat at first. It took me a long time to figure out what to do and how to get the targets. My 13.46 was a lucky run. I haven't sat down and actually played doc since then, but I can easily get the first 5 targets. It's getting 6,7 that bugs the crap out of me. I can't seem to hit both of them with teh same up A anymore. Once I decide to get the WR, I'll watch the vid again. Then 8 is hard to hit and slip. I usually get one or the other. 9 is easy. 10 is just timing.

Ice Climbers Sub15

1) Dash right, fastfall, jump right forward A hitting target and breaking ceiling.
2) Jump up and right, land. Double jump up onto next plat but in air before landing, neutral B left.
3)Double jump and aerial back A the target on the next plat up. Double jump onto the cloud.
4) Single jump up A onto the next plat.
5,6) Single jump up and left. Then double jump straight up and neutral B so that you break both the target right on top of you and the one down and left. You should land on the cloud.
7) Jump onto the next platform up and neutral B off it to the right.
8,9) Jump up to the next plat but on your way up A the target in the top left corner. Then neutral B off the platform and to the right.
10) Get the last target however you're supposed to.

I know this was really close to my last post but really...seriously...Can anyone help with with my heinous scores of Kirby, Fox, Falco, and Ness...I have the vid strats for all of these...but...well....yeah....these four are separating me from sub 4 minutes...or they are at least key to that...any help? Captain, when I said I didn't know about the L-Canceling I wasn't talking about Peach's level. I was talking in general if anyone could explain the L-Canceling idea to me.

And if possible a more specific on the item catching. I have heard it is the Z button a while now and one person told me you have to be directly above the item you are catching, or that it helps to be. Any thought or more exact directions?

Thanks!

L-Cancel is actually short for Landing Cancellation (not L because you press the L button). You press the air dodge button right when you are near the ground. You could do this in the original smash brothers for N64. If done correctly, you will have near-instant recovery after you hit the ground. It is only helpful in a couple of stages such as Bowser, Kirby, and DK. All you do is press L near the ground. As for air catching, just wait until you pass the item in Peach's stage and press the Z button. You'll be above it or close to above it. That's all as much help as I can give. Practice just doing those targets a bit. I'm gonna lower my Roy later if I can.
