SDC Preliminary Test (SDC PT)
The SDC PT is a test designed to ensure that our members know how to accurately judge a conformation show according to AKC rules. We have a simple guide explaining how an AKC show works...be sure to read it before taking this test! :) Also, check out our Dog Show Terms and Abbreviations...they may be helpful!
The SDC PT...
is a 14 question test with one bonus question at the end. The bonus question does not have to be answered. However if you think you might have gotten some of the previous questions wrong or if you'd just like extra credit feel free to do the bonus. You are welcome to study all you want before taking this test. If you don't pass though don't worry! You can always take it again! :)
How it's judged...
The PT's current test manager is Emily ([email protected]). She will examine each test thoroughly and fairly. You will be sent a pass or fail notice after your test has been judged as well as an e-mail with your score/suggestions/explanations of wrong answers and so forth. Each question is worth 7.0 points with the exception of question #1 which is worth 9.0. Members must receive a minimum score of 90.00 to pass this test. (Yes it's a high standard...but you are allowed to look up answers. :) Once you've passed your name will be added to the SDC's official list of PT certified members.
