4th Escuadrilla de Moscas

Pilots and Mechanics of the 4th Squadron

Formed July 1937 under the command of Alexandre Minaiev, participating in the battle of Brunete in which Minaiev dies and is replaced by Shimelkov. Later the squadron participates in the battle of Belchite. In November of 1937 the squadron is turned over to Manuel Zarauza and it's personel is entirely Spanish. At that time it enters combat in Batalla de Teruel, the offensive of the Mediterranean and the attempted assault of Valencia. In July of 1938 the final action of the unit is it's participation in the battle of the Ebro and Catalonia under Antonio Arias. Disbanded in February of 1939 with the decline of the Catalan front
