| Formed October,1936, participating in the battle of Madrid, probably was not well-known as Second squadron until the reorganization of May,1937 (may have also been refered to as" Pleschenkov Squadron "). Participated in the battle of the Jarama, Guadalajara and Brunete under the commannds of Eryomenko and later Smirnov.. In July receives reinforcements of formed Spanish pilots (trained in the USSR) and begins two patrols to the North under the orders of Smirnov. The rest of the unit bases at Sagunto under the command of Pleschenkov, where it is reorganized with new pilots to participate in the final combats of Teruel and in the offensives in the Mediterranean and Valencia. From April 1938 it is commanded by the Spaniard Pereiro. This unit disbands after the battle of the Ebro. Nonexistent in December of 1938 Detachment in the North: 7-8-37: Head of squadron Boris Smirnov " Pligunov ", heads of patrol Mikhailov and Kerenko pilots: Eloy Gonz�lez Olarro, Juan Orchards, Tom�s Saladrigas, Eduardo Fernandez Prada and Francisco Tarazona. The detachment was reformed under the orders of Boris Smirnov with Andr�s Baker, Luis de Frutos, Restituto F. Toquero and Daniel Ranz arriving at de Artacoz late, some coming from 3� Squadron like Nicholas Sardine Perez and Andr�s the Rodriguez Baker directed by Yevseviev. After the fall of Santander, the Soviets Pligunov, Mikhailov, Kerenko and mechanics leave the north. |
