A top model turned full time actress after winning the first Star Search, Singapore's biennial talent search held in 1988, Zoe Tay is Singapore's entertainment icon. She has played the female lead in countless television series ranging from contemporary to period dramas. Her breakthrough came in 1991 when she was cast as a materialistic and vindictive woman in Pretty Faces, a serial in which she stamped her mark with her versatility and sex appeal.

This undisputed Queen of Caldecott Hill has certainly lived up to her status as she was consistently voted the Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes in the annual Star Awards (an award ceremony for TV personalities) since its inception in 1994. A media darling, Zoe became the first local female artiste to launch a coffee table book, Zoe's Pictorial in 1995.

Her enormous popularity makes her a hot favourite amongst casting directors and producers, a fact evidenced by the high ratings of every drama serial Zoe is in, including the acclaimed The Unbeatables series, Singapore's only drama trilogy. She clinched the Best Actress award in the Star Awards 1996 for her stellar performance in Golden Pillow. Zoe was also awarded the Special Achievement Award for her illustrious career and contribution to the local scene in 1998. Her outstanding performance in Home Affairs and The Ultimatum also earned her nominations for Best Drama Performance by an Actress at the Asian Television Awards in 2000 and 2009 respectively.

Zoe's silver screen debut was in a thriller drama, The Tree, co-starring Hong Kong award winning actor Francis Ng. Well known for her charitable persona, Zoe was conferred the Singapore ambassador for World Vision from 2001-2003. In 2004, Zoe achieved the prestigious All-Time Favourite Award of Star Awards, a title given only to artistes who have held the Top 10 Most Popular Artiste position for 10 years.

In 2005, her first pregnancy won her even greater appeal in the commercial sector. As a result of her new status as a mother, a new infotainment programme Zoe's Mommy Tips was specially created. Though now a mother of three, Zoe will make a comeback to the screen in 2011's mid-year blockbuster drama that spans over 2 decades. She will play the title role in Ah Di, a courageous and upright woman who raises 5 adopted kids.
