A lot of people don't understand why I like Colleen Jones. The reason really has nothing to do with how much she has accomplished or how many times she has won the Scotts. The reason that I admire her so much is that she never gave up. She went 17 years between titles at the Scott, and a lot of people would have called it quits, but she didn't. She stuck with it and never gave up, and now it's all paying off for her. She makes me beleive that you really can achieve ANYTHING. She is living proof of the power of persistance and perseverance. In fact, whenever I hear the world "persevere" she is who I think of. People put her down because she chews gum, has curly hair and she comes from the East Coast, but anyone who beleives things like that are true tests of character are leading a sad life. Colleen Jones inspires me to go after what I want, give it my all, and even if I fail, try again and try harder until I make it.
