Hello faithful readers. The year 2001 is now over, so I must be like every news and media outlet in the world and do a year in review special. To do so, I will use my normal rankings format, found on the main rankings page, and apply the criteria to the entire year of 2001, with an extra criteria of longevity. Simply put, superstars are rewarded or penalized for time missed throughout the year. This will give a greater indication on who was most valuable for the entire year, not just standouts at certain times of the year. Therefore, transedant stars who missed significant time (i.e. Triple H and The Rock) will not do as well as one might imagine, nor will recent addition (i.e. RVD and Booker T). Understand?
This is not the first time I've done a year in review, so last year's positions will appear next to the name of this year's qualifiers in brackets. Also, since I have the benefit of a year's worth of rankings archives I was able to use rankings throughout the year to help base my decision. The stats for each performer's monthly rankings throughout the year, as well WWF stats such as Championships won and Pay Per Views Main Evented are provided. Thanks for reading and enjoy!
