| Priestly Vestments | |||||||||||
| Given the looser hierarchical structure of the priesthood of the Hol, there are no definite costumes or vestments for priests. Most priests wear the following, in varying degrees of expense and/or adornment. The Crown - This is a simple metal circle worn on top of the head. It is typically very plain and made of iron. Higher levels of Sa'Alikan will wear crowns of silver or gold. The circular crown symbolizes the priest's never-ending duty to root out and destroy demonic corruption wherever it is found. The Robe - There is almost nothing in common between the robes of one priest to the next. Individual preference is the order of the day here. The only thing in common for the robes is that they are always stark white, to represent the virtuous purity with which a priest of the Hol fights demonic influences in the world. The Necklace - All priests of the Hol wear a necklace on the outside of their robes. The materials of the necklace depend on the wealth of the priest, but all necklaces have a small, rectangular shaped tablet at the bottom, on which is carved the Realities of Corruption. The Cord - Priests wear cords about their waist, which they wrap around themselves five times (representing the Path of Salvation). If the Priest is conducting War by the Word, he will have several scrolls attached to the cord which contain versus from the Book of the Hol. If he is conducting War by the Sword, then a song will hang from the cords. If the priest is on a personal War by the Heart, then he takes only his robe with him and nothing else. Priests wear they hair and beard as local custom demands or by personal preference. |

| Holy Symbols | |||||||||||
| The main holy symbol of the Hol is a device of three rings bound together. This is a very simple shape to construct and is most often constructed of metal. However, it can be found made of bent tree branches, rope, or other readily available materials. Skilled artisans will oftentimes make the tri-cicular symbol with silhouettes of a raven, desert fox, and horned viper in the circles to represent the sacred animals of the Hol. Some sects of the Hol actually worship only one of the triumvirate, and their holy symbol will be a single circle with a representation of the sacred animal of their sect. |

| The Book of the Hol | |||||||||||
| This is the holy text of the religion, but it is a very loose guideline. There is no official, standardized version of the text and individual priests add, delete, modify, or distort passages as they see fit. One ultra-conservative sect of the religion is working on codifying and clarifying the Book of the Hol to make a standardized version. The other sects are not overly concerend with the work of these codifiers. | |||||||||||
