Pureblood Elves: The Valley Elves (Alfr)
Home
Adventurers: The valley elves are among the less likely of the purebloods to be adventurers.  Considering the rarity of pureblood elf adventurers in general, this serves to illustrate that the valley elves are not an adventuring people.  They prefer the comforts of their community and would rather tend to their gardens and fields than seek out fame and money in the rest of the world.  Those valley elves who do become adventurers usually do so out of a desire to learn secrets about nature and how all living things are part of the natural order.  These type of adventurers tend to bring an outsider's perspective to the party, often providing tidbits of rustic wisdom to the modern sensibilities of their adventuring comrades.

Pureblood Elves: The Jade Elves (Jindu)
These eastern pureblood elves are known as magick-hunters and protectors of the old ways..

Physical Description:  The jade elves are definitely the most "fey" in appearance of all the pureblood elves.  They are agile and quick, with lithe bodies.  Their skin has a greenish hue to it, and their hair is black or dark brown.  Green and hazel are the predominant eye color for the jade elves.

Relations: The jade elves are seen as the most arrogant of all the purebloods.  They are strict isolationists and rarely interact with the other modern races.  When meeting others, they prefer to speak only with other purebloods and have been known to completely ignore other groups of people who travel with a pureblood elf.  They snub their noses to the eha Alfr, whom they consider inferior, and do not even spend time considering the other modern races.  They will make exceptions to address arcane spellcasters, whom the jade elves will warn to forego their studies.

Lands: The jade elves are of a slightly different subrace of the purebloods, called the Jindu.  They are found almost exclusively in Sonsia, although isolated small groups may be found elsewhere.

Customs: Jade elf customs are orderly and involve very strict adherence to rules, regulations, and training.  Their art and music are very austere.  Rather than celebrating in art for art's sake, their artistic compositions usually serve to illustrate a rule or parable of the jade elves.  They marry for life, which is unusual for most elves given their long life spans.  In general, the jade elves are the exact opposite of the typical frivolous elf stereotype portrayed by the eha Alfr

Religion:
Unlike the five other subraces of pureblood elves, the religious practices of the jade elves are quite different.  While their brethren tend to revere nature or artistic concepts, the jade elves hold close to more abstract ideas of justice and order.  The traditional clerics of the jade elf faith may pick their domains from among Law, Protection, and Retribution.

Language: Unlike their western counterparts, the jade elves do not speak Alfr'eni.  Their language, thought to be just as ancient, is known as saJin or "Old Jindu" and is spoken exclusively by the jade elves and cloud elves.
