Adventurers: Star elf adventurers are, like their brethren, seekers of knowledge about the past.  In particular, star elves seek to unlock the secrets of magick and its effects upon the natural world and its inhabitants.  As with most pureblood elves, the star elves do no normally stick with the adventuring lifestyle for very long.  After a period of a few decades spent among the other races, most star elves are content to return home and spend the remainder of their time reviewing the knowledge they have amassed.  Star elves make good wizards, bards, and druids but do not normally progress in the more combat-oriented professions.

Racial Modifiers:
+2 Intelligence, -2 Constitution.  The star elves use their vast knowledge to their advantage, but have light builds.

Favored Class:
Wizard. 

Racial Traits:
* Size: Medium
* Speed: 30'
* Low-Light Vision: A star elf can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions or poor illumination.  She retains the ability to distuinguish color and detail under these circumstances.
* Dark Vision: In addition to being able to see well in low-light conditions, star elves can also see well in complete darkness.  While they are unable to distinguish colors in these circumstances, they can otherwise see just like normal vision.
* Magick Immunity: Immunity to magic sleep effects
* Enchanting Magick: Star elf spellcasters add +1 to the DC of any enchantment spells they cast.  This bonus stacks with other similar effects. 
* Fey Resistance: Star elves have a +2 racial saving throw bonus against spells or spell-like effects of Fey creatures (creatures with the Fey type).
* Attentive: All star elves gain a +1 racial bonus to Listen, Search, and Spot checks.
* Nature Student: Star elves gain a +2 racial bonus to Knowledge (Nature) and Craft (Herbalism) skill checks.     
* Languages:
Alfr'eni and as determined by Starting Region.

Pureblood Elves: The Valley Elves (Alfr)
The valley elves are lovers of the outdoors and promote the growth of their communities.

Physical Description:  The purebloods known as the valley elves are slightly taller than the average elf, with heights as tall as 5'10" not unknown.  Like all elves, they are slender and light of build.  Their skin is slightly tan, with hair of light or dark blonde and eyes of brown or hazel.  They are usually considered the most "rustic" of the pureblood races.

Relations: The valley elves are predisposed to be more outgoing than their other pureblood cousins, and it is among the valley elves that most of the modern races first have contact with the pureblood elves.  Their interest in nature helps them connect with the goblins.  They remain neutral toward the other races but are not as apt to act in a superior manner common to the other pureblood races. 

Lands: Valley elves are found most often in the continents of Atkira and Buchlayne Minor (everywhere except the Lugalate of Nur and the areas of the Thar-clans).  They are few and scattered on the other continents, but anywhere there are lush, green valleys, one can potentially find a small enclave of valley elves. 

Customs: The valley elves are the most "simple" of the purebloods, delighting in outdoor settings.  Their crafts are utilitarian, made from natural materials and featuring patterns found throughout nature.  Their clothing is plain, with colors of green, brown, and blue common.  The valley elves are not thought of as a particularly musical people.  Their music consists of simple instruments such as drums, chimes, and reed flutes.  As a general rule, the valley elves are strict vegetarians. 

Religion: Clerics of the valley elves who follow the traditional valley elf system of worship may choose two domains from among Earth, Plant, or Storm.

Language: The valley elves speak a dialect of Alfr'eni.
