The Arcanologist
Home
The arcanalogist is a special pureblood elf wizard dedicated to recovering the arcane secrets of her Alfr and Jindu ancestors.  Many magicks created in the past are beyond the ability of the arcanists and wyrds of the current age, and the majority are thought to be lost forever, sealed away in the mists of time.  The arcanalogists' goal is to unlock these myseries. 

The gold elves began the Society of Arcanalogists long ago.  The founders were loremasters who also had a depth of knowledge in the fields of ancient history, folktales, and arcane lore.  Their discoveries led to many important findings in the study of arcane lore, including lost secrets of ritual magick and information on potential other planes of existence.  The leaders of the Society assign tasks to lower level members, their field operatives, who are sent on missions to recover ancient tomes or to excavate the ruins of an empire destroyed eons ago. 

The search for arcane knowledge creates many enemies for the Society, including the Murch's Guardians as well as Universal AEtonists.  They have few allies, but have been known to have friendly dealings with
Semmej's Hand and the Order of the Ishari Lier

Part historian, part mage, and part archaeologist, the arcanologist has a wide array of skills.  She must be quick and clever enough to disarm or avoid ancient traps, smart enough to read and comprehend languages written in long dead tongues, and charming enough to talk her way past the guardian of a sealed tomb.

Race: Pureblood elf
Appraise: 5 ranks
Decipher Script: 5 ranks
Gather Information: 5 ranks
Knowledge (arcana): 5 ranks
Speak Language: Alfr'eni or saJin, plus any other "dead language"
Spellcraft: 9 ranks
Use Magic Device: 5 ranks
Spells: Ability to cast 2nd level arcane spells

Class Skills
