Information for Bhuwani Priests: 2
Relations: Other faiths, Aristocracy, People
For the most part, the Rishin of Bhuwani have very little interaction with other faiths.  In particular, Imperial Bhuwani is limited in practice to just the Empire of the Golden Sun and the Silvery Moon.

There is no official role for the Bhuwani in government or politics, although many rulers will consult Bhuwani priests for advice and sometimes like to have a Rishis "on staff" when making important decisions.  The Emperor (or Empress) will typically have six Rishin in court (three from each sec, and one for each form of Bhuwani) in addition to a retinue of Guardians.  The Goshun in the North consults frequently with the Master Rishis of the Serpent Guardians.

The religion of Bhuwani does not really administer to the people.  The Rishin of the faith are more concerned with living better lives among themselves.  Each worshipper follows the loose tenets of the faith as he or she sees fit.  The main interaction between followers and the Rishin are during festivals and Holy Days.
Hierarchy of the Faith
Imperial and Healing Bhuwani do not have a hierarchy of priests; each Rishis is equal to the other in the faith.  Certain elderly priests are sometimes consulted by the Emperor/Empress and these tend to have more status within the priest community.

There is a strict military hierarchy within the Guardians.  Each of the main paths (Lions, Tigers, Dragons, Serpents, and Sepoy Kpeshiya) is headed by a Master Rishis and assisted by several Deputy Rishin.  Below this, each member is simply called by the name of the path (e.g., a low level Rishis of the Lion Path is called a Lion).  Note that the Guardians include several non-priest members, namely fighters and some paladins.  Many of the famous Samurai of the Far East are members of the Dragon Path of Guardians.
Priestly Vestments
The vestments of the Rishin of the Bhuwani faith are very simple indeed, consisting of merely a monochromatic robe (which differs in color by region or sect; typical colors are red, orange, gold, green, and brown) tied with a loose belt.  Most of the Rishin who are at court also wear necklaces made of flowers.  The only other requirement is to wear two simple pieces of jewelry, one silver and one gold.  Typical jewelry will be rings, earrings, bracelets, or ankle bracelets.

As mentioned under "Restrictions", the vestments of the Guardians are more complex.  In addition to the four restrictions listed there, most Guardians wear some type of armor, usually elaborately decorated in a pattern which identifies their path (armor of the Lion Path is typically gold-coloured and may include a headdress made from a lion's mane or a cloak made from a lion's pelt).
Holy Symbols
The holy symbol of Bhuwani was explained in the Mythic History section.  The symbol represents a shrine with six base pillars and a crossbar over the top.

A typical holy symbol is constructed of silver for the pillars and gold for the crossbar.
