WELDING OF ALUMINIUM ALLOYS WITH FLUX

1. Arc Welding (TIG, A-TIG, MIG, etc.) With Flux

a) Flux for TFA-5, TFA-7, TFA-12,TFA-15, TFM-1 and TFM-2 types for welding of items made of aluminium and magnesium alloys, with thickness of up to 4,0 mm.

Advantages:

  • welding possibility of angle joints without filler wire;
  • elimination of metal welds defects (faulty fusion, oxide elements and high porosity);
  • improvement of weld formation (2,3 times reduction of welding sag);
  • protection of welds from environmental influence;
  • improvement of metal weld macro- and -micro structure;
  • reduction in requirements to condition of welding surfaces;
  • improvement of mechanical properties of welding joints (10-15 % increase in strength, 50-60 % increase in plasticity).

These flux are used in welding of items made of aluminium alloys of IL-76, IL-86, airliners.

b) Flux film for single-pass welding of aluminium alloy items with thickness up to 10,0 mm.

Advantages:

  • possibility produce single-pass, square-groove, full penetration welds up to 10 mm without lining;
  • elimination of welds’ defects;
  • improvement of welds smelting formation;
  • improvement of welding joints’ mechanical properties (40-50 % increase in strength, 12-17 % increase in plasticity);
  • protection of welds from environmental influence;
  • reduction of labour input (50-60 % decrease in labour expenditures);
  • saving on electric energy and welding materials.
