| Monamacy to decide the successor to Cardinal Luis, for Sabbat rulership over the continent of Europe. And won. With the destruction of Luis, Grand Inquisitor Anthony Livingstone, and, if rumour is to be believed, even the Regent herself, all taking place in the city of Maiden Newton, it is hardly surprising that Cardinal Drad has noticeably stayed away from it. He has, however, taken an active interest in its affairs, particularly regarding the Abomination London, and the fulfilment of the Armageddon Prophecy, although he feels that since it appears to be a localised problem, it should be dealt with locally. Hence, when it was brought to his attention that the Sabbat of Maiden Newton are now following the leadership of Sahjhan, a Legend of the Garou (and seemingly some sort of old rival of Drad), the Cardinal ordered that the Bishops of the city kill Sahjhan on sight, for if they chose to continue following his lead, they would be excommunicated from the Sabbat entirely. They chose Sahjhan. Moving swiftly up the ranks, Drad took the coveted position of Regent of the Sabbat, replacing the assumed-dead Melinda Galbraith. For the impressive victory that the Alliance of Maiden Newton won against the Abomination London, Regent Drad granted the excommunicated city official independent status, and, through his agent, Gynander, offered the city a non-interference treaty, which was signed. The terms of this treaty were simple: the Sabbat would no longer interfere with the Alliance or the city of Maiden Newton, so long as the reverse also holds true. Still, with Maiden Newton being such a highly prized city, there are many doubts as to how long this agreement will last. Inside Information: Drad is and always will be Jonathan's favourite NPC in any game ever, and bringing him to the live game has been both a long time coming, and ultimately inevitable. |

| Tzimisce. Drad is an extremely old and powerful Cainite of the Sabbat. His exact age and background are shrouded in mystery and legend, but it is estimated that Drad has had at least three and a half thousand years of experience in his unlife, most of which has been spent in solitary study or in the practice of the art of torture and interrogation. It is rumoured by younger, more eager members of the sect, that Drad even spent some time in the Middle Ages as a member of the Inquisition itself, using the organisation to target his own enemies. Regardless, the facts of Drad's long existance are few and far between. It is known for certain that he spent approximately thirty years as Prince of his own fiefdom - the city of Dublin - in the mid-fourteenth century. The reasons for his leaving that post are not known, but if, once again, rumour is to be belived, the Fiend was cast out of his own city when the other Cainites there rose up against him in defiant revolution, for reasons lost to the wisps of time. Drad next appeared in Cainite history in the eighteenth century, as a Sabbat luminary leading a nomadic pack of Elders on a rampage right across Europe, earning him the sobriquet "The Reaper", in reference to the several hundred Cainites whom he met and... disagreed with. The late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries have seen more noted appearances from Drad, who, serving sometimes the Sabbat as a whole, sometimes the Black Hand, and sometimes just himself, has earned himself a fearsome reputation as a Sabbat torturer, specialising in the punishment of traitors to the sect. Staying away from the political intrigues of Cainite society, Drad was content to simply inflict decades of exquisite pain on those who were unfortunate enough to end up in his clawed hands. However, suddenly, Drad has taken an extreme interest in Sabbat affairs, to the extent that, despite never before holding any formal position within the sect, he entered the recent |
