COMMUNITY SPEAKOUT
One of the many issues revolving around SA-I-GU deals with the Korean American community's lack of voice. Through the Community SpeakOUT, we voice our opinions and listen to others' thoughts as well.
The Community SpeakOUT program will include:
Nemo (*just added!)
This awesome band rocks not only great music but also a political message rooted in "the minority versus majority, the layman versus the strongman, the mute versus the speaker." Check out their website at www.nemorocks.com.
Jupiter Sciples (*just added!)
Combine dope hip-hop beats, fresh lyrics, and 3 very talented artists and you can get a sense of what the Jupiter Sciples experience is like. These 3 emcees are carving out a space for Korean Americans in the hip-hop community.
Kublai Kwon (*just added!)
Those who aren't familiar with Spoken Word poetry are about to be blown away by Kublai Kwon, a Spoken Word artist. Kublai Kwon's lyrical mastery and awareness of Asian American issues will educate and empower the listener.
