| Ancient god and creator of the realm of Kryastal, he rules as one of the two Lords of the realm. He is as passive as Ryder is aggressive in his involvement with those who make up the realm of Kryastal. Despite their different ways of doing things, Garren also puts the safety of the realm above all else. He abhors confrontation unless absolutely necessary. Called "Protector of Peace", diplomats, ambassadors, and the like will almost always begin any proceedings with prayers invoking the Lord's blessing. However, this Lord is not a total pacifist either, hence his most commonly used title "Sword of Peace". He is a master swordsman with the katana which is always by his side. This militaristic aspect has led the samurai, devout noble warriors of Ponua, to worship Garren as their chief deity. This duality is not the only one which exists within this complex god. Consort of Gaea, Lord Garren Sparrowhawk is both a nature deity and associated with things mechanical. When in mortal form he appears as a druid of either human or half-elven appearance with a shimmering black cloak and is often accompanied by a large wolf. Druids, cleric-priests of Gaea, revere him as much as their own beloved mother goddess, calling him "Father of Creation". Common people call him "The Wandering Druid" and thus he is also the protector of travelers. On the other hand, he can often be found in the Lords' Tower or his In-Between Palace, working on some mechanical device or another. Artificers, those who create constructs of wood and metal powered by magic and natural resources, revere him as "The Tinkerer". This god embodies both nature and science. |
