There are many shops in runescape where you can buy and sell things. There are two main types of shops, general stores, and specialized shops. When you buy/sell items to shops, the shops will make a profit, so they wont sell the item for its actual price. For more information on this, go here. Here are the different stores:

Axe Shop:
This shop sells hachets, battle axes, and pickaxes. You can use hatchets to cut trees down and wield them. Battle axes are equipable items that are a bit more powerful than hatchets. Pickaxes can be used for mining.

Sword Shop:
This shop sells daggers, long swords, and short sword. All of these items are wieldable, the long sword being the best of the three.

Clothes Shop:
This shop sells almost all clothes. Apron, leather armour, boots, skirt, silk, cape, and gloves are in this shop. Very cheap prices, but the armour isn't that good. Sell any spare clothing items you have here.

Archery Shop:
The only archery shop in the game. Also the only shop in the game that sells ammo for bows and crossbows. It normally doesn't have many arrows in stock, since people buy them quite a bit.

General Store:
If your item belongs in a store in port sharim, why walk all that way? Just sell it here. They give crap prices, but its handy for not walking miles for 2gp.

Armor Shop:
This shop sells plate mail and chain mail up to mithril. After you smith, sell it to this guy, he gives good prices. It also sells and buys iron plate mail legs. Also handy for selling steel plate mail after those wilderness trips

Magic Shop:
Sells all 6 types of runes. It has great prices and stock compared to the one in Port Sahrin. Sell your runes and buy them here. Don't buy fire or water ones here, go to the scorpion pit and get them in huge quantities for free.

Apotherecary:
Not a store, but it's listed here. Ask him for a free potion, and he'll give you spot potion, a pointless acessory. If you have spider eggs and limpwust root, this guy can make 'em into a strength potion for 5gp.

Leg Armor Shop:
It's interesting that the only place on the continent that sells legs(besides the champions guild) is in a barren desert city. Well, remember to bring lots of water on the trip there and back, those plate mail legs are heavy!

Plated Skirt Shop:
In an effort to not be called a sexist, Andrew put this in, a skirt shop. Interestingly enough, it isn't on the runescape world map. Well, all you ladies that like to kill others, this is your store.

General Store:
Yet another place where you can sell your useless junk. And to think they put it in the middle of the desert.

Scimitar Shop:
Ever wanted one of those curvy swords that the guy has in the "13th Warrior"? Welcome to this shop. Although I highly recomend you dont come to the desert to sell your bronze scimitars that you got in the secret respawing spot in Rimmington, it is worth buying a mithril scimitar here.

General Store:
Ever wanted to trade your pots and jugs to other players? Well look no more, this store buys them.

Tannery:
Not technicaly a shop, its a place where you can trade cow hide and 1gp for leather.

Keebab Shop:
Yet another of this desert town's attractions, this guy sells a keebab to you for 1gp. Remember, if you keebab is slightly poisoned, you can't sue this guy.

Crafting Shop:
Ever wanted to fool around with a needle? Come here, where they have lots of needles in stock, plus all your crafting needs.

Silk Trader:
Here we come to a "shop". Buy silk from this guy and sell it elsewhere, make a huge profit. I don't see why he doesn't move to varrock. (about 150gp per trip)

Helmet Shop:
It's interesting that the only shop here is a helmet shop, not an axe one. Well, come here if you want a great deal on protection from someone poking out your eye. Plus, they carry a 90 second warranty, you can't beat that.

General Store:
I dont see why the goverment had to poke their nose in this used-to-be deserted ghost town. It was THE spot for collection treasure. Well, if you have a bunch of crap from the wilderness, sell it here.

Rune Stuff Shop:
Wanted to get the armor those good players have? Come here, where you can spend spend spend your hard earned gp's on blue colored armor!

Champions Guild Shop:
Before Scavvo came along, this was the only shop there. Want a blue cape? Buy it here for cheap. Want to infiltrate the black knights? Buy your anti-poking-out-eye protection thingy here. Want the best armor in the game? Buy it h... Erm, it looks like the sell only the second best.

Rune Plate Mail Shop:
Though not really in edgeville, it doesn't belong anywhere else. This is the place where you can buy rune plate mail after you've slayed a level 110 dragon.

General Store:
The crap store! buys and sells all your crap for gp! Come here to sell... crap!

Gem Shop:
Don't ever sell your gems here, players buy them for much more! If you ever see a gem for sale here, buy it!

Mace Shop:
If you like to bash people with a pointy spiked ball, buy them here. Also sell your maces here too.

Chain Mail Shop:
This shop rivals Horviks in the fact it sells and buys adamantite chain mail. Great place to sell and buy your chain mail if you're not in Misthalin.

Sheild Shop:
The only one in the game can be found here. If you need sheilds buy them here. They sell and buy up to mithril square sheilds. Want a runite sheild? Go bug Bluerose13x.

Food Shop:
For all your grocery needs, come here. Need to buy bread, flour tomatoes or bananas? Come here. Want to sell cabbage that you stole from farmer Fred? Sell it here.

Fishing Shop:
Ever feel the urge to kill fish and eat them? Come here for the killing equipment. Also sell uncooked fish here, pity they don't buy cooked ones.

Jewllery Shop:
For all you people that like to wear extravagant jewellery, this guy will trade jewellery for gp. Also, if you're a lowly peasant, you can sell your jewellery here for the all important gp to feed you family instead of stealing from farmer Bob's field.

Magic Shop:
Need to eat a newts eye? They've got plenty of them here. Also buy stones with cool symbols on them!

Axe Shop:
Want the best adamantite weapon in the game? Buy the battle axe here, for only 4,100gp, only 8000 days worth of food! Now that's a bargain that you can't beat.

General Store:
Yet another place to sell pots and jugs. I dunno why you even need a description of it.

Crafting Store:
You can get spools of thread and needles here. Also, try some of their moulds, if your a peasant, it can also double as a bloudgening weapon.

General Store:
Yet another place tp sell pots, it's amazing how much junk these places buy

Alchohol Store:
The only place in the RS world that sells Karajma rum. Don't even try getting it past the customs officer, they'll confiscate it.
