In order to make money, shops need to buy things at lower prices than they sell them for. In runescape, there are two different types of shops- general stores, and specialized stores. General stores will buy anything you have. Specialized stores only buy certain items you have. To find out how much a piticular item will sell for, use the following equation: Store buying/selling price = item market price * store modifier(buying/selling)

The item market price is the true value of the item. General stores will allways buy items that you have for 50% of the actual price. Specialized stores will buy the item for 75% of the actual price. General Stores will sell for 150% of the item's price and specialized stores will sell for 125% of the item's price.
