This is my dad. He died suddenly, at the age of 62
and a half, on February 20, 2000. My dad was a
psychiatrist who lived and worked in the town of Herborn, Germany. After the loss of my Mom in 1991, I became increasingly worried about him and afraid I might lose him as well. My Dad was a devoted family man and a dedicated doctor. When he died, he not only left me an orphan, he also left a loving girlfriend and a workplace that will be poorer without his firm but gentle guidance. He will always be greatly and painfully missed.
My Dad did not have a simple life. He struggled hard and worked even harder. After my Mom died, my Dad fell into a severe episode of depression. He never regained his old self again, although he came close once, after spending some time in a clinic in Bavaria, Germany. His attempts to rebuild his life failed, but produced a second volume of poetry, after the one he published in Romania in 1969, which is the year I was born. My Dad was a loved and respected man, but most of all, he was - my Dad!! He cared deeply about other people, he was sensitive, and he just knew how to make people feel well in his presence. I will be forever grateful to have known this guy, whom I am so proud to call my father!
Daddy, I will always love you and you will live on in my heart!

My Dad loved to read all kinds of books, and his biggest talent was writing poetry. He published two poetry books, one in Romania (1969) and another in Germany (1999). I am proud to say that I seem to have inherited this talent.
