RumbleFish

This band has more talent in the first letter of their band name than many other bands that are legendary icons in the pantheon of rock music. These guys got together and formed a unique blend of just about every style of music, simply on a whim. They basically threw their hands up in the air and said "Fuck it! We're just gonna play what we want and just play what comes out naturally." Which is exactly what they did and the end result is that of pure genius, heart, and genuine musical integrity. Their style is their own and yet they can play ANY style.

The rythm section of RumbleFish, combined with the dynamics of the guitar and vocals, makes for a joyous fusion of many rock styles with that of jazz, blues, funk, and even a little folk thrown in to throw you off. I personally haven't heard any negative things about the band. In fact, all that I keep hearing from EVERYONE is that they "FUCKING ROCK!!". Nothing could be more true.

Their Bassist and Drummer are absolute prodigies and have been playing music together since they were youngsters. The Glansbeek boys, Nate (bass) and Ace (drums) are unsurpassed in this town when it comes to synchronicity, timing and talent... they ARE the ULTIMATE rythm section. And they do it all without huge maniacal egos.... well... Nate knows he's the shit but he's still cool as hell and down to Earth. Ace will straight up tell you he sucks ass, but deep down inside I'm sure he knows he's on the heels of Copeland, Pert and "Herb"..

Zeke (guitar/vocals) plays with an unparalleled passion and affinity for the music they so freely produce and perform. Zeke writes beautiful songs, intelligent heartfelt lyrics, and has an awesome voice that completes the RumbleFish circle. A wise man of great ideas for our situation as musicians in Alaska, talk to Zeke and listen close. You'll also find that he's one of the coolest, down to Earth mofo's in the land. All you youngsters out in scenesterland should put your egos aside for a set and take some notes.

Behind the music, behind the scenes, tweakin' knobs and fixin' things is RumbleFish's sound technician, Joe Kilhoffer. Joe makes sure the show goes smoothly by making sure the sound equipment is in check, pluggin' shit in when it needs to be, and changing out chords; along with a myriad of other duties the band can't do while they're playing. Shouldn't every band have a built in sound guy?

I don't know if you could ever meet a nicer group of individuals. Especially a group of people who are so incredibly super cool that'll rock your socks off until the wee hours of the early morning and leave you jones'n for more. I don't see how ANYONE could not like this band. Get your RumbleFish fix and check them out whenever and wherever possible. They'll be playing at BlueGrass in Talkeetna this summer on the MAIN STAGE so don't miss out.
