This is a band from Service High School.  They played at the Battle of the Bands on April 20, at Kincaid park and did very well for only being around for a couple months.    From top left to bottom right we have Dylan  (drums), Brennen (Guitar/Vocals), Luke  (guitar), and Lynn (bass).  They used to be called DieCaste but apparently the name was taken.  These guys have 5 or more original songs and played a few covers at the B.O.B.  With a deffinate new wave metal / hardcore heavy sound, Chowder kicks some ass.  Loud, aggressive, and talented.  Good music with great vocals.  Brennen's got some pipes man......  jeez.  At the B.O.B. they rocked shit so much that they blew one of the monitors.  Deffinitely a welcomed addition to the scene.  Keep it up guys.

Subconscious is very new to the scene.  They are still in school (I'm pretty sure anyway), and they kick soooo much ass.  A very tight band that shows a lot of promise.  These guys play agressive rock with vocals that come out as actual singing.  Dan's vocals are very high in comparrison to the low vocal growls that you might expect from such a heavy rockin' band.  That kid can sing with the best of 'em, no doubt there.  Everything fits like a glove with this band.  They are all connected by the music that flows throughout each one of them.  They play really well together.  They all seem to know exactly where the others are going with the music.  Great chemistry.  I highly reccomend you check out Subconscious the next time they play.

Missing Zori is of the newest additions to the Rock scene in Anchorage and the Valley.  Good solid rock n' roll with punk and emo-punk influences.  A talented line up of musicians that shows promise of future greatness.  They recently lost their lovely and multi-talented bass player April (who also played keyboard for the Roman Candles), she has gone to college and will be missed dearly.  Rhythm guitarist/Vocalist Brian, has a great voice and plays with ease, John plays lead guitar masterfully with a lot of controled sustain and natural harmonic ghost notes that add multiple dimensions to their sound, and Ford's timing and beat structures keep everything tight the way it should be.  Their new bassist Colin (also of Shut In) makes a welcomed edition to the MZ lineup.  A whole lot of gifted youth.  Lots of heart and enthusiasm.
