Dragon by Nagawa Cherry Orchards

There is always something going on at Misawa or just an hour drive. For winter there is skiing and snowboarding. You can learn to plant rice and join the farmer in the harvest. Go hiking at lake Towada, an extinct volcano with a lake formed in its crater. Walk along the Oirase gorge with running streams and several small waterfalls.You can go cherry and apple picking which is a great family outing.You can walk along the beaches looking for glass floats,shells or collect rocks and some amber. Lake Ogarawa is here with its fishing and camping or just visit the parks and have a picnic.

Misawa's Recreation

Tonami Clan Memorial Tourist Village
Tonami park has many things to do for only a small fee. They have Putter Golf, Go-carts, Pony wagon ride,Pony riding,Battery car and a few animals for the children to see.

Misawa Aviation and Science Museum
This museum has activities for the children to do-500 yen adults and children under 15 free.

Misawa Ice Arena
For those who like to ice skate-fees adults-550 yen Hs student 350 yen 13 and under 150 yen.Skate rental is 300 yen.

Rokunohe Apple Orchard
Only 20 minutes from Misawa this orchard has apple picking for 500 yen. The 500 yen pays for 3 apples the size of softballs and a ride on the tractor train that takes you around the orchard.

Liberty Park
This park is about 15 minutes away and is home to a replica of the statue of liberty that is four stories high. There is play equipment for children and some small ponds. Great atmosphere for a picnic.
