Japan is a volcanic island which makes it a paradise for the hot thermal spring baths. These hot thermal springs have mineral concentration which has the ability to cure. The springs called �Onsens� are used by the Japanese community for relaxation as well as treatments and are a part of their culture. To use the public hot spring baths requires getting naked in front of other using the baths. (Just think of a fitness center) Before getting into the hot bath there is a washing area and you must wash yourself with soap. Cost for adults to use the hot spring can range from 250 to 300 yen. There are separate baths for men and women or they can be mixed (both). If you come across a sign with the red and white symbol up above then you have found an Onsen.
