Theobald Smegwich

From the Archives of the Robert James DeBurgh (Poet) Appreciation Society

Unfortunately the Official Society Biography of Theobald Smegwich was lost in the Great (yet highly selective) Archive Fire of 1972....

Almost all references to this Great Man were lost... All that survived were a couple of newspaper clippings that were in the process of being catalogued and cross referenced.
These articles deal with an unfortunate Incident in the latter part of Smegwich's life, when he was confined in the Slovotkin Institute, near Novgorodny.

Among other Items lost in the Fire were;
The Society's Account books, A Ceremonial Tea Cosy, most of the Night Watchman's beard (in his Heroic Effort in extinguishing the blaze) and B. Svertlovich's toupee. (although the Police couldn't prove anything....)

The loss of the Life Story of this Great Man must surely be keenly felt among the Literary Community of the World...
Then again, perhaps not....
