i've seen in this world has not made me <feel as
though i belong here> feel as though i belong in this
mess that they call living <if you can call it
that> famines, fires, rapes, and floods how could it
be that were of the same being <i don't feel we're the
same> and how long will it take for others to see that
we're all the same <remove his burden from my back>
/<from the darkness> comes out those who see a new
beginning <we all need, to reconcile> for the
crimes that we are all guilty of <we need to, work
together>/ everything you are, in your own
heart, reflects of your own image <the face looking
back at you> will you be proud of what you see, or do
you have fantasies, of grandeur and pride <you're not
what you pretend to be> do you think its all a game,
are you pristine in vain, or do you have a reason
<you're not impressing me> have you gone on so
long, you can no longer hold on, without your safety
harness <made of your own self doubts> /chorus/
when the light fails to shine, i sometimes wonder have i
gone blind. compassion is only met with despair, in a
world we forgot how to care. the heart breathes simple
thoughts unlike what we think we are not. |

| In a world that becomes
increasingly harsh as the hands of time pass us by, a
real feeling of despair clouds over us all. Many
times I find myself thinking that I cannot be a part of
the mess that is developing in society. But as I look into the mirror
at my own image, I see that I am no
different from anyone else. We all have the same
doubts about ourselves, whether we choose to share them
or not. We often present an unhealthy image of
ourselves to feel, or even become, more excepted in the norms of
society. Until we see that everyone is on the same
side, with the same problems and the same doubts,
true unity will never exist. Remove this burden
from our backs. -Jon |
