very well fought game.  very close to the end.  first game was won on a NYC cat (GO NU YAWK).  the second game was seesaw to the very end, and the raiders lost despite a 1 pt help by hope (ty very much).  the tie breaker was just a grueling match and the raiders pulled it out in the end (with much help from our cap'n, VIRGINPET).

(commentary)  Tonights' games were a lot of fun against Fourplay!  We did great but still fell short in both games.  In the first game, Fourplay took the lead right away.  We came back and almost tied it, 9-10 but lost in the end with the "water" cat.  The second game we did take the lead after the "rodents" cat, 16-13.  Fourplay swept the next cat, "Canadian Islands" to take the lead back at 19-16.  It was tight to the end.  Congrats to the whole Liz^ard team for MVP awards!!

OK It's late so here goes.
The games were incredibly close tonight. Both teams battled for every point. The lead changed hands several in each game. The Raiders won the first game by one point. The Rockers came back and won the second game by one point. Then it happened, the Raiders brought in the big gun in the form of their captain, VirginPet.
The Raiders, fired up by her presence, went on to win the 3rd game but not easily. The Rocks were right there all the way.

Congrats to all on a very well played game. We look forward to meeting again in the regular season.

ROCK ON!!!!

A hard faught game by both teams were in order for this auspicious Monday night!  We Rats found ourselves pretty outnumbered, but fired up with the same intensity as always!  The first cat. put the LOL's in the lead with their speciality of "long running musicals".  The following cat. was ours with  "comic strips" (silly rats that we are).  The next cat. of "kinds of boats" threw us over the top with a score of 19-16.  We tied on the next cat. of "country singers" with a score of 22-22.
An, alas, we tied up the  score again and went into overtime on "z" words with a score of 32-32.  The Rats claimed victory with their patriotic knowledge of "things of fourth of July".  Game 2 was not so kind to the Rats, but we did manage to pull ahead on "p" girls names...score 14-12.  We split the points on "20th century painters".  However, the LOL's showed us just how into "F" words they really are, bringing the score to 27-22.  The final category was "cricket" terms, giving the victory to the LOL's.  Ready to slobber with a vengence, the Rats got 9 of 10 points on the first cat. of the third game of Nursery rhymes.  We showed our impeccible literary tastes taking over the cat. of V.C. Andrews novels as well.  We left little margin for loss going into the next category of "red" things.  The final category of the game was things of "buffy the vampire slayer"...which we swept...disproving the theory (which is usually not the case), that the team with the best attendance alw!
ays wins!  Go on with your bad selves....Rats!!!

(commentary)  The first game was well played, eventually being tied at 26.. but.. oh well.. it was not to be for the Packers tonight.  Obscure cats such as 'Characters from Veggie Tales' appeared in tonight's game.. throwing almost everyone completely offstride (well except hoov.. who apparently watches Veggie Tales.. lol)

Fantastic game tonight LOLers !!  Those Rats are tough ones I tell ya.  But we did show with our 2nd game that we are here and we got some money to make ..heh heh

The first game, we opened with a 6-4 lead on Broadway shows.  We managed to hang on to it until one point where the Rats took a 19-16 lead, which we pulled back to a 22-22 tie on Male Country singers.  Can you say "LOL does the work?" The next round was a double pointer, Z words, in which we split it 50/50, so we went into overtime with a 32-32 tie.  The Rats declared their independence and pulled away to win 37-35.

In the second game, we started with a 4-4 tie on Countries that start with G or N.  Rats wanted to end it quickly and jumped into a 14-12 lead on Girls Names that start with D, but we managed to narrow it to 18-17 on painters, then went up 20-19 on Anthony Burgess novels.  We took a miracle lead of 27-22 on 3 letter F words, and much to my surprise, some of us knew our Cricket terms and won the game 32-24!

The third game was where it all came down, though..as the Rats dropped a slobber bomb and went up 8-1 on Nursery Rhymes.  While we were scooping the stuff out of our eyes, they kept the pace on VC Andrews to go up 14-5.  We had a good round with occasions to send a card, but they knew their red stuff, including our red zone..dropping by at 25-13.  Try as we did, we couldn't quite put the stake on that pesky Buffy cat, so the Rats won 32-13.

Great turnout tonight LOLers !!!  And thanks for the MVP!!  My vote was a tie 'tween Emma & MilleniumLOL so I figured I'd at least give them a mention here.

Our first matchup with the Sixpack this season turned out to be quite a challenge.  They fought hard , but we managed to win both games.

Game one started out with a Double Point Round - Cities in Spain -Seniora HOOV scored 6 points!  Ancient Greeks were up next and the Sixers showed that although we knew Spain, they knew Greece!  They took the lead 9 - 8. For some reason Bot decided to boot EVERY player from both teams.  I think only VI was spared the big bot boot.  What a great job she did voicing everyone as they came back in, all at once I might add! We were confused, but voiced and ready to continue with Smallest COuntries followed by Car Manufacturers.  EIM showed us she was a true Elvis fan and scored 4 points in the Elvis Movie Cat.  (Hmm.. does the E in EIM  stand for ELVIS??)  We kept our four point lead with Hotel/Motel Chains, but the Sixers tied it up 26/26 with Aisian Cities and Capitals.  (Bot must have Geography on his rusted brain tonight!!)  It was close but we pulled it off and took the win 32-28 with works by Edgar Allen Poe.

Sean Connery Films was our first cat in Game Two and we scored 5 points with a 2 point lead.  We kept our 2 point lead with Pokemon Monsters.  Hoov swept the Veggie Tales Characters Cat scoring 6 points!  Songs with You in the title gave us the advantage and increased our lead to 17 - 8.  We were on a roll and we continued to rack up the points and hold back the Sixers with Areosmith Songs, Fruit and the final cat TV & Movie Dogs.

Go Wonders!!!  What a fun way to play!
