"I put down the paga flask which I carried that I might, unencumbered, assume the position of serving paga, or wine, to a Gorean male. "First remove the silk," he said. I did so. He was a customer. I was his to command. Then I knelt naked before him, head down. "You may now serve the paga," he said. "Yes, Master," I said. I reached to take the cup, in both hands. One kneels, one proffers the cup, head down, with both hands, to the male. Slave Girl of Gor, pg. 305, by John Norman.

There are basic steps to each serve one does whether it is food or drink... Once a girl has moved to the edge of furs of the one she seeks to offer service, she begs to serve, serving with grace and beauty she would follow these steps or something similar...

1.) Acknowledge the command: yes, Master or yes, Mistress
2.) Rising, she steps back to the edge of the furs before turning to make her way to the servery
3.) she takes care in selecting a vessel (tray/whatever else is needed or commanded) appropriate not only to the drink she is serving, but for the one she is serving
4.) one checks the vessel for any mars that might be found displeasing upon her body (new ones usually stick to using the tender flesh of thier inner wrists, or trace their fingertips about the rim)
5.) one polishes the vessel to a high gleam or in the case of mugs and bowls wipes them carefully with a soft rep cloth
6.) she fills the vessel with the drink of choice
7.) one makes thier way back to the one she serves, kneeling at thier feet
8.) she holds the vessel to her belly then lifts it to rest close to her heart
9.) In some homes, we are expected to beg to prove the drink (i.e., taste to see if it is safe for their consumption)
10.) she bows her head, saying a silent prayer for the one she serves heath and well being
11.) one lifts the vessel upwards in offering begging that the drink/food be found pleasing as well as the one serving
12.) After the vessel has been taken, one rests their hands to their thighs

"Blood ran from my mouth; other blood I swallowed. My vision cleared; I could not believe the pounding of my heart. I had been cuffed. I knelt, terrified. At that time I did not realize how light had been my discipline considering the gravity of my offense. I had both spoken without permission, and broken position without permission. Most simply, I had been displeasing to a free man." Slave Girl of Gor, pg. 34, by John Norman.

Some General tips for those new to serving:
1.) NEVER NEVER NEVER speak to anyone other than the one you are serving during a serve
2.) All of your attention should be focused on the one you serve
3.) Once you have moved to the edge of a person's furs, you either wait for permission to speak or beg for permission to speak... This includes greetings and well wishes.
